  1. Talking to my doctor today I was brought to tears by what we are doing to children at the border. Never could I have imagined I would live in a country that is so evil. And I'm sorry but evil is the only word to describe what our president and the Republicans are doing.

    1. I believe that the essential wholesomeness and fairness of the American people will triumph in the end.

  2. It's so terribly sad. And things just as sad are happening all around the world, aren't they?

    1. Yes. But deaths like these are eminently avoidable.

  3. This breaks my heart and it is only one example. I agree with Ms. Moon and I cannot stand the thought of all the children being held at the border. It is pure evil and those that can do something about it will not. I cannot wait for our next election.

    1. The children are innocent but there they are, ripped from their parents and incarcerated like murderers.

  4. Sadness and horror stories abound - everywhere throughout the world, and we are helpless in stopping them from occurring...sadly.

A couple of weeks ago, on a straight stretch of highway outside of Kingaroy, a small agricultural town and locality in the South Burnett Region here in Queensland, about 2-1/2 hours north west of Brisbane, a 35-year old mother deliberately drove head-on into a truck to kill herself and her four young children - aged 6, 5, 4 and 2 years. In other words...she murdered those beautiful, innocent little children.

Yesterday, in Singleton, a town in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales there was a house fire. The fire claimed the life of five-year-old twin girls, and their 11-year-old brother. The children's mother and 8-year old brother escaped...both are presently in hospital.

Tears are rarely far from the surface....tears regularly fall....

    1. You are of course right Lee. There are always tragedies waiting to happen.

  5. What makes me sick are all the people that see that photo and say, "If only they had come here legally that wouldn't happen." Which is total heartless bullshit because it's LEGAL to request asylum. It's infuriating and sickening to me.

I saw another photo of this man and his smiling daughter alongside the photo you shared and it's heartbreaking.

    1. That young father had dreams that he hoped and dreamed might be achieved in the USA. Now the dream is over.

  6. The same reason, Mr Trump, your forebears left their then shithole countries. It makes me struggle hard not to think that the human quality of humanity is almost dead.

  7. PS After my temporary absence, yet again, from Blogland I've been catching up with your posts. I'm always rather sad when I read one on which I'd love to have read when it was still 'commenting time'. I was intrigued by your daughters card which read 'All other dads losers'. Did that mean all her other dads are losers? I can't see why she would comment on other people's dads.

    1. She was mimicking the language of Mr Trump. When I opened the card I was momentarily foxed too.

    2. I missed that. I understand now.

  8. When you read Trumps totally horrific comments, it makes you glad that you don't have such a moron in charge of your country. Then you see and hear what Boris has to say....

  9. Since time began man has been cruel to his fellow man and sadly this will never end.
Trump is not the only man in the world doing bad things and even we have done our share of evil in the past.
I am sickened by how people can be to each other.

  10. This is the result of selfishness and the arrogance of privilege.
I believe that in the long term evil cannot and will not prevail but that's cold comfort to those who are victims in the mean time

  11. It was a shattering photo of what really happens in this world. The sadness of that small child's arm wrapped around her father is haunting, but then all the cruelty in the world should be remembered to.

  12. Your shortest post ever, and the saddest.

Donald Trump's mother was from the Isle of Lewis.
