I can make a donation, and then I'm on their e-mail list forever, getting newsletters and solicitations every few days. And they NEVER LET GO. I understand the need to develop a reliable pool of donors -- and fortunately, in the era of e-mail, they no longer need to spend money on postage and stationery to keep people on the hook. (It used to drive me crazy that they were spending my donation on re-soliciting me for more donations.) But it's still a bit frustrating. I wish they would let me decide when to give rather than asking, asking, asking. It's the canal reflection which shows a building not visible in the photo frame. I'll just say this about charities and donors; people who refuse to donate money based on the theory the money is squandered are using that excuse as a cover-up for their own mean attitudes.

Alphie Alphie Souphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17041492283753978975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13883584.post-43943279439688732582017-01-05T02:54:26.211+00:002017-01-05T02:54:26.211+00:00Vet clinics...Vet clinics...Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15835982875620956300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13883584.post-60814021257822009472017-01-05T01:21:34.295+00:002017-01-05T01:21:34.295+00:00Are they called hospitals or HOSP shops? Are they called hospitals or HOSP shops?Yorkshire Puddinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06019673884543913089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13883584.post-31865348943700477832017-01-05T01:18:35.669+00:002017-01-05T01:18:35.669+00:00We have those places, too.We have those places, too.Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15835982875620956300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13883584.post-82590654344458390822017-01-05T00:18:34.614+00:002017-01-05T00:18:34.614+00:00At first I thought an OP shop was somewhere Austra...At first I thought an OP shop was somewhere Australians could go for swift medical operations... but now I know different.Yorkshire Puddinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06019673884543913089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13883584.post-36033228129277170612017-01-05T00:16:27.039+00:002017-01-05T00:16:27.039+00:00Bad stuff seems more likely to happen with small, ...Bad stuff seems more likely to happen with small, poorly managed charities but even then I think it is quite rare.Yorkshire Puddinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06019673884543913089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13883584.post-9449555163942798202017-01-05T00:15:09.654+00:002017-01-05T00:15:09.654+00:00Excellent use of commas as parentheses Graham. We have probably all heard too many stories of money being squandered, either due to poor management skills or corruption.
