We are not socially taking care of our fellow human beings so enthralled are we with other matters. The fact that homeless people die on the streets as yesterday's news shows should be a wake-up call but it won't. More housing is needed.thelmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00934860502828923562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13883584.post-73123304582210380782019-10-01T23:24:12.925+01:002019-10-01T23:24:12.925+01:00In our Sheffield suburb we never saw any beggars f...In our Sheffield suburb we never saw any beggars for the first twenty years. I do remember the occasional tramp living rough in North Wales. My Mum often spoke to one particular one and his lifestyle was definitely a matter of choice. He was a remarkably learned man. The first place I really became aware of beggars on the street was in Edinburgh in the early '70s. Now they are everywhere. I'm told there is even a homeless person in Stornoway although we dedicated 'homeless' accommodation. Coping with people living on the streets is one of the hardest 'social' things with which my mind attempts.Graham Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11196744947133121475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13883584.post-74845275142282337992019-10-01T18:36:48.607+01:002019-10-01T18:36:48.607+01:00I spotted that too Jennifer.
