I discovered interior house wall are for holding on to during staggering time! Gnome sweet gnome.
ReplyDeleteUntil now, I never knew why houses had walls.
DeleteSounds amazing. I bet you needed a that after all of that
ReplyDeleteI certainly did need a .... after all that ADDY!
DeleteOops. The errors of typing on a SMARTPHONE! It should have read... I bet you needed a nap after all of that.
DeleteWow! the menu sounds divine, and not a dreaded sprout - roasted or otherwise - in sight!
ReplyDeleteHow did Phoebe enjoy her first Christmas?
Who knew the real reason for house walls? You learn something new every day!
Forgetting to put the obligatory brussel sprouts on the list was what is known as "a senior moment" Carol! THanks for the reminder. I hope you had a good Christmas Day.
DeleteThat was quite a feast! Not surprised you staggered...or was that the drink?
ReplyDeleteAll our sons and families made it here, in spite of the 9 yr old grandson initially refusing to take a lateral flow test!
I would have given him a lateral flow test as his main Christmas present. It was the food that made us stagger Frances...honest!
DeleteWhew! And now none of those present at this feast (with the exception of Phoebe) will have to eat again for about a week or so.
ReplyDeleteSuch a feeling is usually very temporary.
DeleteNot a properly constituted Christmas dinner. You omitted to read and approve the minutes of the pevious meeting. It also appears that the minutes of this meeting are inadequate as the agenda is in incorrect form and there is little record of what was said. I am afraid you will have to hold it all over again.
ReplyDeleteThere'll be a leftovers feast today Young Dunham. Decisions will be made.
DeleteIt's not time for curry already, is it!
DeleteIt was bubble and squeak with cold turkey, yesterday's stuffings, fresh brussels sprouts. a few roasted potatoes and yesterday's gravy. No curry in sight Carol.
DeleteWhat a fabulous meal. It's 8AM and I'm now starving!
ReplyDeleteAre you an Ethiopian Bob?
DeleteNo, but I hadn't had ny breakfast and suddenly I wanted turkey and all those extras! =)
DeleteI made a plate up specially for you Bob - but you never arrived.
DeleteIt took you no time at all to get to the table from the front room. After eating it took twice as long. The difference is staggering.
ReplyDeleteIt's called staggering difference Debby.
DeleteQuite an impressive menu! I think I'd be staggering for a week after all that!
ReplyDeleteThank God it's not Christmas every week.
DeleteOh, and I love the fact that your new gnome is named after Joe Biden. :)
ReplyDeleteJoe Biden seems like a nice guy and also our gnome looks rather like him.
DeleteWhat a feast! Roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts are two of my favorite foods, but alas, it appears they're not vegan. I could certainly tuck into that Christmas pudding, though!
ReplyDeleteIf our son had been here, things would have been prepared differently Kelly.
DeleteSo what was for supper?
ReplyDeleteTurkey sandwiches of course!
DeleteWhat a feast! Everything sounds absolutely delicious.
ReplyDeleteIt was a culinary triumph.
DeleteMy golly! That feast must have required several cooks. Was it a pitch-in, Mr. Pudding, and what part did you play in the preparation? I salute you and all the chefs!
ReplyDeleteJust Mrs P and I. I make most of the meals in this house but for Christmas she wanted to take charge. I made the bread sauce and focused on the roasted potatoes. I also made the chestnut stuffing from scratch.
DeleteThose desserts sound scrumptious. The food is amazing too--but I'm all about the sweets!
ReplyDeleteYou are too sweet already Margaret!
DeleteAwww, there are some who would not agree with your assessment. ;)
DeleteJust once in my life I would like to experience a Northern Christmas where food, such as that which graced your table, is appropriate to the season.Compliments to the Pudding team for producing such a feast.
ReplyDeleteIn childhood we sweated in 25-30 degree heat through a full roast meal as befitted the sons and daughters of the far flung Empire. These days we are much more likely to enjoy an outdoor meal with salmon or ham, new peas, carrots and potatoes, salads, pavlova and berries, maybe a bbq or a trip to the beach with a picnic. Whatever the weather we still seem able to stuff ourselves and then look forward to the leaner meat free days to follow. Today we enjoyed smashed avocado and a poached egg on toasted ciabatta. Much kinder on the digestive system.
Glad your dinner was a success and I love the new gnome. It's sure to amuse Phoebe in Spring rambles round the garden. I raise my nightcap glass of Limoncello to you and drink your health. Cheers Adele
So it's not true that New Zealanders chow down on roasted kiwis at Xmas? That's another fantasy cruelly dashed! Cheers Adele!
DeleteI missed your Christmas dinner post. the menu was a great blog post.
