Got 'em all except #4. "Southern Ocean"? That's a pretty imaginative name.
ReplyDeleteErrr no young lady... that is how the ocean to the south of the globe is now commonly called.
DeleteI missed four and one of those I should NOT have missed. This was a fun one, YP. (btw... I would have gotten Billy Ocean without choices)
ReplyDeleteI know that Billy Ocean had some success in America but I am astonished that you would have known him just by seeing the pictur.
Delete6
ReplyDeleteI got 8 right, got numbers 2 and 3 mixed up.
ReplyDelete6 right! I missed, 1, 2, 4, and 6.
ReplyDeleteWoo-Hoo! 10 today! probably the first time ever and maybe the last.
ReplyDelete8 out of 10. Southern Ocean? I honestly didn't know that this is the offical name. Like Kelly, I would have known Billy Ocean without the multiple choice answers :-)
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I only got 3...worst quiz so far! I did get Billy ocean without even seeing the options though!
ReplyDeleteFailed on number 8. That was a sneaky one.
ReplyDelete9/10 - number 2 wrong!
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to sailing seven seas of the world? I should have counted them up myself. 7/10. Billy Ocean was a good addition.
ReplyDelete5. Oh well. Must try harder next time.
ReplyDelete9 out of 10. I got #2 wrong!
ReplyDeleteThis might be a record for me, 9 out of 10 correct. I missed the southern ocean, thought it was the Antarctic Ocean,
ReplyDelete1. They say seven seas, but I think it's five.
ReplyDelete2. Atlantic.
3. Pacific
4.Southern Ocean. I had never heard of this one, but the other night it was an answer on Jeopardy!!!
5. By process of elimination, I'd go Arctic.
6. Easter Island.
7. The Indian Ocean.
8. I feel like 85 is too much, so I'm leaning 7.
9. Billy Ocean, Get Outta My Dreams [and Into My Car]
10. Oceanographer.
Got 'em all, thanks to the process of elimination, Jeopardy, and one lucky guess.
5 out of 10 correct. I am really no good at geography (or oceanography either).
ReplyDeleteI decided to skip this quiz with the excuse that I'm Swedish, and haven't studied oceanology in English. Nor even in Swedish, to be honest - until now.
ReplyDeleteGoogle AI *in Swedish* tells me that that traditionally there are three oceans. But out of those only one of those is called "ocean" here. The other two we call seas ("hav"). AI does add that some countries, "including the US", also recognise what we call Norra Ishavet (the Arctic ocean) and Antarktiska oceanen as oceans.
To sum up, personally I doubt I'll bother to memorize any of it, as some president across some ocean might any day decide to rename them all, anyway... ;-)
