  18. OK, I've looked at your answers now. How do we know the first one, "Lincoln green"? Is it from a book, or perhaps specified in the legend? I'm curious about the source of that. Did the quizmasters explain?

    1. The quiz questions are produced by an organisation called "Red Tooth" based in Barlborough near Chesterfield. Each week they send new quiz questions to hundreds of pubs across the country. Of course the bar staff who read the questions out cannot answer supplementary questions. Without pondering, we all "knew" that the answer was "Lincoln green" - probably from the old TV show "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1955 -1959).

  20. I'd be useless in a pub quiz team. I knew Poseidon and the Angel of the North (but had the latter not been an a/b/c question, I'd probably have struggled to remember...)
