  2. 7/10. I wasn't convinced it was Princess Margaret until I enlarged the photo and it became immediately obvious.

  3. Janis Joplin Princess Margaret Coco Chanel Emily Bronte Benazir Bhutto
Eva Braun Rosa Parks ... I mistook Betty Rubble for Wilma Flintstone.

Rosa Parks and Emily Bronte are the two women here I would like to have met.
Rosa was attacked and robbed in her home in 1994 at the age of 81.
Emily was 30 when she died.
There has been speculation as to whether she had started a second novel.

    1. In her second novel the heroine meets a Scottish vagrant who is crossing the moors in his rough kilt and raging at the thunderous skies above as he necks neat Islay whisky from an old hip flask. She invites him to take shelter in a nearby sheep barn where she asks him his name. "Tis Jack," he growls, "Jack McHaggerty. What is thine lass?"
"I'm Lulu," she whispers. "I thought ye might recognise me from the Gorbals."

    2. An Islay Single Malt. A double Quarter Gill. A little sparkling water.
Lagavulin. Laphroaig. Ardnahoe. Bruichladdich. Names like music.

Lulu ? She'd have my cojones. Maryam D'Abo. She survived a stroke.
Barbara Flynn. The Beiderbecke Connection : YouTube. 1988.

Series written by Alan Plater who lived in Hull, a friend of Stan Barstow.
TV drama had a different beat then. Slower. Whimsical. Human.

    3. I won't tell you how "Haggerty Heights" ends. It would be just too upsetting for you. By the way, I have discovered that Tasker Dunham's real name is Robert Ward. I miss the old duffer but I am fearful too.

    4. Eric Blair. George Orwell.
      Robert Ward. Tasker Dunham.
I wondered if you two had ever met.

  4. I missed three, so a 7/10. That just doesn't look like Princess Margaret to me, though what do I know?

  6. 9--I thought Eva Braun was Margaret Thatcher. My bad.

    1. As did Debra below. Maybe Eva Braun escaped from the Berlin bunker and fled to Grantham, Lincolnshire.

  7. The only one I missed was Eva Braun. Do I get a half point for thinking the portrait was of a young Margaret Thatcher? An argument can be made, lol.

    1. I agree. An argument certainly can be made for that confusion!

  8. 9/10 and six of those were guesses. I knew Princess Margaret, Rosa Parks and Betty Rubble for sure.

  9. Princess Meike got them all right, each and everyone of them. Hooray!!
(By the way, the lack of specs on Margaret's beautiful face was the clue for me, otherwise I would have gone for Meike, of course.)

    1. Princess Meike was a trick option as she is a fictional princess who lives on a castle made of clouds, far above The Earth.

  10. I did better than I thought, as several were guesses....7/10 ! Didn't get 4,6 or 10.

  12. At first glance, the only one I recognised was Betty Rubble! ;) Going through the alternatives given, I managed six more, though...

  13. I think this may be my best score ever on one of these, 9 out of 10 correct. I missed Coco Chanel, with the red lipstick, I thought Estee Lauder.

  16. When I saw the photograph of Eva Braun I was immediately reminded of my late mother-in-law. I showed it to Barry and he said it was his mother. 😧First impressions only, you understand, though he's been told he speaks very good German. 😀
