Princess

Here are some snaps of Princess Phoebe during her recent royal tour of Canada. All images were taken from her mummy's Instagram page. The fellow in the second picture is Richard from Sheffield who is now working as a construction manager on a big project in Toronto.  He used to be our paper boy! The fellow in the third picture is Stewart - Phoebe's daddy.

Decisions, decisions...

Toronto

Princess Phoebe sends greetings to her loyal subjects in Blogland and those who reside in her Canadian colony. She is currently watching the proceedings at the COP26 conference in Glasgow with great interest as meaningful decision making or lack  of decision making there  will impact greatly on her life and the lives of her children and grandchildren

  3. One day Phoebe will read about COP26.
I hope it's not, 'Glasgow was the world's last chance, and now it's too late.'
My heart goes out to all the caring people who have travelled to get here.

Near to my home, police numbers are higher than anyone imagined, with major roads closed to traffic and pedestrians. I see helicopters above the River Clyde.
All that matters is that COP26 succeeds, Neil.
    Wonderful photos !

    1. Maybe the helicopters are looking for you on behalf of The Ministry of Truth.

    2. If I had known that protesters could not find accommodation I would have let them have my two spare bedrooms for nothing.
I am disgusted that hoteliers and Airbnb people ratcheted up their prices.
The kindness of strangers is everything as Tennessee Williams wrote.

Greta Thunberg spoke movingly in a park in Govan; so did Xiye Bastida, the indigenous climate activist; and I am delighted Rainbow Warrior berthed in the Clyde, near where the Last Chance Conference is being held.

From what I can quickly analyse, President Biden promised a hard-headed and far-reaching programme of change, which will only inflame Tucker Curly on Fox's Not The News. *Comment is free, but facts are sacred,* as C.P. Scott wrote so long ago in The Manchester Guardian. Fox will never understand that.

President Biden's New Deal is as visionary as FDR's, but will it be met, and is it enough? His powerful neocon enemies back home are threatening sedition even now. Roosevelt had his haters too.

A handful of the indigenous people, as well as some of those caring kids, should have been invited into COP26, as well as to the big bash in the Art Galleries with Prince Charles.

It would have been a classy thing to do.
To have invited the protesters inside, where the people of power decide whether Phoebe will have a Tomorrow.

    1. And we keep "growing up" too. All of us are nine months older since Phoebe was born.

    1. She really is. If she cries - which is rare - there is always an obvious reason.

  9. That is a happy child. My son took my grand daughter to the playground. She wanted to swing in the baby swings. She is a little larger than a baby these days, but my son obliged. He pushed the swing until she decided she was done, and then he tried to maneuver her out. She got stuck a little bit. She sighed and said, "If you don't get me out, you'll have to go home alone, and then you'll have to tell mama what you did."
