10. What is that?/ What is it?
I got # 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised that you got the last one Meike.
Delete6 of 10
ReplyDelete1. Jimmy Carter. I've seen that photo before.
2. II enlarged the photo and it's clearly Madonna. Same face, for the most part.
3. He's a Rolling Stone but I have no idea; to me they are all old men and that's all I can see!
4. I haven't a clue, but a guess might be: D
5.Peseta.
6. Yappy something-or-other?
7. Martin Chuzzlewit gave it away as that was a clue on Jeopardy recently so I know it's Dickens.
8. Huckleberry Hound.
9. Not a clue, though I am guessing it's Venus Mars or Mercury. Yeah, that doesn't count.
10. What is that?
Good effort Young Bob but no point for "Yappy something-or-other"!
DeleteHuzzah!! I only missed one. I picked the wrong Rolling Stone.
ReplyDeleteThat's what Mick Jagger's many girlfriends all said.
DeleteYP, your reply to Kelly made me laugh. So thanks for that. Not that it takes much to make me laugh. Keith Richards was always the one for me. Witty, funny, thoughtful, not tight arsed as I perceive Mick Jagger.
DeleteAs an aside: I am amazed how many of your readers/commentators didn't recognise him. When were they born? If there is one face not to be mistaken at any age it's his. As is, and not to be holier than most, I most certainly didn't guess Madonna. I can't bear the woman [as a performer] - which is totally irrational, and I apologize both to her and myself. When I hear her name all I remember are those pointy spikes.

ReplyDeleteCould do better.
Delete70% this week, passing, but must do better.
ReplyDeleteWith all those law degrees you should be getting 100% every week!
Delete8/10. :) I missed Huckleberry Hound and the distance between the poles.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised that you knew number 10 Margaret!
DeleteIch spreche auch Deutsch, mein Freund. Nicht sehr gut, es tut mir leid. :)
DeleteIch war frech.
DeleteI got 1, 2, sorta 3...(knew it was a Rolling Stone but not which one), 6, 7, 8, and 10.
ReplyDeleteIt was Mary Moon's dream lover.
Delete50%. I'm abashed.
ReplyDeleteDoes "abashed" mean demented?
DeleteIt means embarrassed. Demented only applies to the evil people who dream up these bloody quiz questions.
DeleteCalm down Brucie Baby! These quizzes are meant to be fun!
DeleteOnly six for me this time. I thought the pomeranian was a long haired chiahuahua, didn't know Huckleberry Hound, nor Jimmy Carter or how many miles from North to South.
ReplyDeleteGood effort Elsie. Here - have a mint imperial.
DeleteI missed 1, 2 & 4. Is 7/10 a sliver star?
ReplyDelete7/10 means you won't be having a detention this week Andrew.
DeleteWell, I had no idea who the first two were, as I wrongly guessed no.1 and thought it might be a Kennedy! I also picked the wrong Rolling Stone!
ReplyDeleteI did identify correctly 4,5,6,7 and 10!
Not up to your usual high standard Carol!
Delete6 this week.
ReplyDeleteSorry. There were no questions about digging or Kansas.
Delete5 6 7 9 and 10! Worst score so far. Thought that 3 was Ronnie.
ReplyDeleteI put the dog in especially for you Frances!
DeleteThank you....luckily I knew it!
DeleteAnother good week for me. I only missed numbers 7 and 10. I would have missed Jagger if it weren't for the hint though.
ReplyDeleteCough-cough...splutter! It wasn't Mick Jagger - it was Keith Richards! So that's 7/10 Ed!
DeleteI'm not sure why I typed Jagger in my response when I guessed Richards. Regardless, it really doesn't make much of a difference to me, 7 or 8 I think is pretty decent for a random bunch of trivia questions.
DeletePomeranian, huckleberry hound, mercury, what is that?
ReplyDeleteWhat about the first half of the quiz?
DeleteI failed completely!
DeleteThe answer to your last question is a very useful one. I'll apply that to most of the other questions as well... ;-) I did also know peseta and Charles Dickens, though. (I think my brain just doesn't bother about storing things I'm not particularly interested in...)
ReplyDeleteOkay. Maybe next week's quiz will be solely on Swedish footballers and body builders (male). You should get 10/10.
DeleteI suggest you don't bother... Anything sports-related and I'm likely to get 0. I'd have a much better chance with some more classic English literature! ;-)
DeleteHere are the ones I know: Jimmy Carter, Madonna (what a sassy child she was), Keith Richards, Chow, Huckleberry Hound. Okay, I know a few others too.
ReplyDeleteI put Keith Richards in just for you!
Delete1. Not a clue.
ReplyDelete2. Madonna
3. Keith Richards?
4. I'm guessing D?
5. Peseta
6. Pomeranian
7. Charles Dickens
8. Huckleberry Hound
9. Mercury
10. "What is that?"
As you can see from my answers, number one was Jimmy Carter - now aged 99. I guess that peanuts are good for you.
Delete6 right. Better than the last couple of weeks...
ReplyDeleteWhoopy-doo!
