Okay... I have received the hint from quizzical visitors like Arkansas Kelly and Harpenden Frances. The day has arrived for another "Quiztime"! I can already hear the whoops of excitement from clamouring contestants but what will be the theme this time? Actually, there is no theme today. It is a random, pot luck general knowledge quiz. As usual, the answers will be given in the comments section. Good luck!

Hip operation? Best of luck Frances! I hope it goes well with no complications. Shame you didn't get the flower!
DeleteI got 6/10. I was close (but no cigar) on the ones I missed. My uncle, who was a colonel, served on Patton's staff, so I didn't even need any hits for that question.
ReplyDeleteSo - you smoke cigars? Not many ladies do these days.
Delete10/10 but I did research on question 9. I pulled my Penguin Classics translation off the bookshelf and it is 434 pages - so assumed Arabic would not be shorter and went for (b)
