Awww!

Baby it's cold outside!  Fresh snow on  wintry Sheffield as Comrade Putin sends yet more cold wind from his Urals. Above - Shirley snapped that picture of Princess Phoebe and her doting grandpa on Sunday afternoon. She used her new-fangled smartphone - Shirley I mean - not Phoebe. She hasn't got a phone yet but she has got a rattle and a cuddly bunny rabbit. Below there's another picture of the old man and his grand-daughter. Three weeks old now. "Lavender's blue dilly dilly..."

  1. Oh, just look at those wide eyes! She really is beautiful. Do not ever play poker, YP. Your face shows exactly what you feel: pure delight and joy. I am happy for all of you.

    1. Glad to say that I have never played poker and have no intention of ever doing so.

  2. Ah, Phoebe's a beauty and very aware of her surroundings. Grandpa is clearly over the moon in love. As he should be. :)

  5. Look at that sweet little face! And her happy grandpa, too. What a nice photo. I love Phoebe's yellow sweater. The detail on the sleeves is pretty.

    1. I knitted that sweater myself. Took me ages.

P.S. I am lying. They bought it at a nearby supermarket called Morrisons.

  9. Awww! indeed... So far she probably doesn't even have to use her rattle to get everyone's attention! :)

  12. Enjoy every moment, they grow up too quickly. I would give anything to have our Tom back as a little boy, he was so lovely.

I am not sure how quickly parents perceive their children grow, but when they are not your own, my do they grow quickly and at some point, perhaps as they reach teenage years, you ask yourself where did that time go?

    1. Seeing Phoebe reminds me of early days with my own children but I have forgotten so much.

  17. Oh she's lovely. It's startling how quickly those 3 weeks have passed by and how alert she is now. The baby part of childhood seems all too short unless of course you're the main nappy changer! I'm going to upgrade my 2015 phone for a newer model for the better camera function in anticipation of April's special arrival. Happy cuddling, Adele

    1. Since birth her eyes have changed so much but of course she has still not made full sense of the world she has found herself in. There is so much to process. Thanks for calling by again Adele.

  20. Hello there, sweet Phoebe! Auntie Donna here! You are looking bright and happy and your granddaddy looks absolutely besotted ... and who can blame him!

  21. Aww so lovely. FYI just because it’s good to get the song right before Phoebe remembers it, it’s Lavenders Blue not Lilacs.
