Quiztime

As usual we were up at the quiz at "The Hammer and Pincers". Of course,  the quiz questions tend to have a British bias but with that in mind I am nonetheless giving you ten of the twenty five questions to have a stab at. The answers will be given in the Comments section.

  2. Well, I'm rather disappointed with my results. I only got half correct. I didn't spend much time pondering, which might have given me another correct answer or two, but I figure in real life there is a time limit on these quizzes.

  7. I got two of them. Then again, I make no claim to know a lotof trivia

  8. I got most of them, but I didn't know "umbrage" (that's the shadow cast by trees?) and I'm terrible at anagrams. And I didn't understand that no. 7 was all the same year, so I guessed 1979 for one of those!

  9. 7, 8, 9 and 10 were really easy. I am not familiar with ten pin bowling and so could only guess at 4. 3 wasn't difficult since I am fluent in Italian. As for the rest, they were a mix of "can't be bothered to put the creaky gears of my mind in motion at this time of the morning, pre-breakfast" and "I know I should know this, but am not sure".
How did your team fare anyway?

  16. I knew 3. My son is on a trivia team and they took 1st last week. Obviously, my son doesn't get his talent from me! :)

  17. I got half, 3,4, 8, 9, and 10. I might have gotten 6 if I spent a couple minutes on it but usually the quiz shows I have participated don't give you a lot of time to ponder things.

  18. Only #'s 4, 8 and 9. I'm ashamed of myself, no need to chide me.
