Absence

Treetop walkway in Kew Gardens
Later this morning, Shirley and I will be boarding a London-bound bus. We are heading to the capital to visit our offspring.  They were both Yorkshire-born so why they should have chosen to live in London remains a puzzle that I just cannot get my head around. I mean, just compare the two! Choosing London over Yorkshire is like opting for the bowels of hell when you could have paradise.

All being well, we will be returning to Yorkshire on Tuesday afternoon - this time by train.

Currently, Ian lives in a very nice rented house in the borough of Hammersmith. That is where all the Bosh! vegan activity happens. With the rest of the Bosh! team he is currently working on the second Bosh! book which should be out in the middle of next year. Naturally, I really hope that happens. As the first book proved - dreams can indeed come true. The first Bosh! cookbook remains Britain's best- selling vegan cookbook of all time! That's quite a thing my friends, quite a thing.

Anyway, the point I am trying to get to is this - our laptop will not be travelling with us so my blogging activities will be in freeze mode until next Tuesday or Wednesday. Amongst other things we hope to visit Kew Gardens but mostly it's about seeing Ian and Frances. There'll be a special celebratory meal in the "Potli" Indian restaurant on King Street, Hammersmith on Monday night.

But have a good time and big congratulations to your son on what looks like a very fine cookbook!

  2. Is the celebratory dinner all about the Pudding family reunion or something more specific?

    Have a marvellous time!

  4. It's good to get away from the computer and internet for a bit. Give your brain and eyes a break! It is exciting to hear of the success of the Bosh! cookbook! I know more than a few have been sold through your blog so perhaps you should ask for a cut of the profits, Ha!

That treetop walkway is cool! Think of the photos you could get from there. Enjoy your family!

  5. Enjoy! And thanks for letting us know - it's a worry when a blogger's regular schedule suddenly stops with no explanation.

I hope the second Bosh! book is as well received as the first - or even more so.

  6. That's really wonderful about the Bosh! cookbook. I didn't realise.
Have a super trip! And I hope you find something nice about London other than your two darlings. I quite like the place, so I am REALLY looking forwards to Yorkshire.

  10. Sooo inconsiderate of our children to move so far away from home ! Keeps us poor in airfares and accommodation in Sydney.

  12. The treetop walk looks interesting, I really enjoyed the one we were on in Bavaria. Yes, the entire Bosh! thing is quite something, and you are rightly proud of your son. Does the family dinner have something to do with your birthday?

  14. I am aware that you can (and will) do just as you please, but as a relative of a celebrity, even a minor one, it might behoove you to be nsless forthcoming, less specific about dates and places on your itinerary. Here across the pond, if fans and opponents, friends and enemies, supporters and protesters know one's location, one runs the risk of being met by mobs of humans with uncertain intentions, to the possible detriment of one's plans to spend a pleasant evening with one's family. In this country it has become downright dangerous to be out and about. I'm just saying.

  15. Have a great time.

Although I had to 'eat dinners' in London when I was studying for the Bar I always felt unbelievably lonely as one of 10 million people. Later one of my sons lived in London. That's where his job was. I haven't been there since his death in 2006.

  17. London aint all that bad. There's plenty to do and greenery to be found. I have best of both worlds... I'm in a leafy suburb 15 minutes by train to the centre but 5 minutes to the Kent countryside. Enjoy kew.

  18. Have a great time! I know it's hard for you to imagine but some of us actually LIKE London. We're Kew members but we almost never go, which is a shame.

  19. it sounds that you love your area so much my friend so does everybody

yes your love for your area reminded me the ladies from neighboring desert whom i met during my recent visit to hospital and caught up in conversation with them as their dressing and jewelry attracted my attention

i asked the why do you live in desert where no basic facility is provided and one of them replied "we belong to there ,desert is like part of our being in your city we may can find all the easiness of living but will loose our true inner peace" her answer amazed me ,i was embarrassed to think of her as ignorant lady

best of luck for your travels my friend!
