Whooh

Prince Andrew and Virginia Roberts in 2001

"I’ve no recollection of ever meeting her" - Prince Andrew

Well, she was just seventeen
You know what I mean
And the way she looked was way beyond compare
So how could I dance with another (Ooh)
When I saw her standing there

Well she looked at me, and I, I could see
That before too long I'd fall in love with her
She wouldn't dance with another (Whooh)
When I saw her standing there

Well, my heart went "boom"
When I crossed that room
And I held her hand in mine

Whoah, we danced through the night
And we held each other tight
And before too long I fell in love with her
Now I'll never dance with another (Whooh)
When I saw her standing there

Well, my heart went "boom"
When I crossed that room
And I held her hand in mine

Whoah, we danced through the night
And we held each other tight
And before too long I fell in love with her
Now I'll never dance with another (Whooh)
Since I saw her standing there
Oh since I saw her standing there
Oh since I saw her standing there

      How about Randy Andy?

    1. Yeah. When you put the two together it sends a shiver of disgust up your spine.

He looked so nice with his family on my childhood money box tin but what a sleazebag he turned out to be. However, was she mature? Was it consensual? Whatever, what a very stupid man to have left himself so open.

      Possibly potentially so.

  6. The Vanity Fair writer Dominick Dunne interviewed people who knew about the hidden crimes of the rich and powerful.
*Tell me everything,* he would say.

Emily Maitlis interviewed Prince Andrew for BBC's Newsnight (YouTube).
She only needed to ask questions with her compelling eyes.

The truth about Andrew's involvement in Epstein's empire was laid bare, well almost. What was denied was really confirmed.
I suspect the Establishment wanted Andrew to do the interview, knowing he would incriminate himself: it was their way of throwing him to the wolves.

Emily Maitlis was quite brilliant; and Andrew's facial expressions must have been studied by actors and stand-up comedians. This is how to give yourself away.
The eyes of Ms. Maitlis are as relentless as the recording angel.

Andrew sold his country home to a friendly Arab sheikh for two million more than its market value.

    1. He was an arrogant fool to face an interview like that. He seemed so ill-prepared and how can he say he never met Virginia Roberts when there's a photo of him smiling with her? Idiot!

    2. He is a sideshow, Neil.
So is Epstein, quite definitely murdered.
They know Andrew is a liability + stupid so they let him give the interview.
Now we are seeing a weak attempt to rehabilitate Ghislaine.

  7. How about Prince not so charming?

  8. At least the Beatles, when they sang that song, were within just a few years of 17 themselves! Prince Andrew, on the other hand, was 41 at the time of his meeting with Ms. Giuffre.

    1. When I think of sexual exploitation I look back at male pop and rock groups of yesteryear and recall the screaming groupies and girl fans - many were very young. Mick Jagger, Roger Daltrey and the rest - they appear to have got away with it.

  10. Yikes. I know little about him but was he a druggie/drinker? If so, perhaps he actually doesn't remember much from those days.

    1. I don't think there's any suggestion that he has ever been into drugs or drink but was probably addicted to young women.

Says it all. Jumped up princelets are ten a penny. That interview when he was skewered by the eyes of Emily Maitlis was brilliant camera work;)

  12. Andrew was known as Randy Andy in his youth, and it seems he's never changed.
Many youngsters, particularly this current generation, are impressed by celebrity - be it a pop star, actor, or a member of the aristocracy. There must be royal groupies just as there are pop groupies.
The Royal family has long had a reputation for covering up their illicit affairs - they are, after all, human. That's not an excuse - merely a fact of life! In the past they have had the "clout" to keep the lid on their misdemeanours - these days the media shows no mercy.
Ms Roberts looks extremely pleased with herself - yet another young girl trying to gain publicity any way she can by association with Royalty?
My sympathy is with the Queen - that two of her sons and one grandson, have caused International scandals involving women, must be heartbreaking, and she no longer has the comfort of Philip beside her.

    1. I hope you won't mind this intrusive question Carol but did you yourself meet Randy Andy? I believe he visited Spain several times during his break-up with Sarah Ferguson and I have often wondered why.

  13. No I've never met him, nor wanted to. When he broke up with Sarah, I was still living and working in the UK.

  14. It staggering how stupid some well-known people must think the rest of us are. Why not own the bad behavior and try a sincere and abject apology instead? Ah, yes. Some people can never admit they were wrong.
