Nominees

With regard to the Liebster Award nominations I referred to in my last post, I know that many of you out there will have been tossing and turning in your beds - unable to sleep because of the exciting possibilty that you might also be nominated! All blog awards worth their salt have to have rules and here my friends are the rules of The Liebster Awards - if you are fortunate enough to be nominated:-

The Rules
If you have been nominated for The Liebster Award AND YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT, write a blog post about the Liebster award in which you:
1. Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.
2. Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post.)
3. Answer 11 questions about yourself, which will be provided to you by the person who nominated you.
4. Provide 11 random facts about yourself.
5. Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 1000 followers. (Note that you can always ask the blog owner this since not all blogs display a widget that lets the readers know this information!)
6. Create a new list of questions for the blogger to answer.
7. List these rules in your post (You can copy and paste from here.) Once you have written and published it, you then have to:
8. Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it!)

My Eleven "Liebster" Questions - These are the questions that willing nominees should answer before advancing the process - like a chain. Copying and pasting will of course help.
  1. How are you feeling today?
  2. When you look in your mirror what do you see?
  3. If you could be an animal for just one day which animal would you be and why?
  4. When you were a small child what were you scared of?
  5. If you could have any plate of food placed in front of you for your next evening meal, what would be on that plate?
  6. When did you come closest to dying?
  7. It's karaoke night and you have been pushed towards the microphone. There's no escape so which song are you going to attempt to sing?
  8. You can travel back in time to any era, any country - where will you go?
  9. When did you last say "I'm sorry"?
  10. If you were a skilful artist with a blank canvas, what would you paint?
  11. From your memory name a special place you once went to that still makes you smile and why?
And so to my five nominees. Links to their blogs are in my sidebar. I apologise in advance to the many bloggers who will be bitterly disappointed to have been left out. I hereby nominate

If you accept the nomination all you have to do is follow the rules and of course answer my eleven questions to become a fully fledged Liebster like me! Then pass it on as they say.

    1. Thank you. I wanted to nominate you Carol but I know you have more important things to do.

    2. Yes, like getting better, marking, writing report cards, prep for next term, unpacking boxes and re-homing our cat.

    3. Well, that means you know I do NOT have more important things to do...

    4. NOT in block capitals is like a club upon my skull!

  2. I read this and was distraught, I couldn't stem the tears of disappointment.
Although I never get involved with such memes it would have been nice to tell you where to go.
Consider yourself told, even though I wasn't invited to the prize giving.

    1. Adrian - The selection committee deemed that you might be a loose cannon who could bring shame upon the entire Liebster movement which is akin to the masons' lodges of yore.

    2. It wasn't just an oversight then.
I'll answer some of them anyway as I'm waiting for my porridge and a battery to charge.
      1. Rough.
      2. Freddie Mercury.
      3. A cow, they have a peaceful life do cows.
      4. I have trouble recalling yesterday so don't ask the impossible.
      5. A bottle of Talisker and a few grapes.
      6. Last night when I went to sleep. It was fine.
      7. Fat Bottomed Girls by Brian May.
      8. Scotland, yesterday.
      9. Yesterday, I trod on the dog.
      10. Freddie Mercury.
      11. Memory? What memory?

There you are and you know where you can stuff your award.

    3. I could be wrong but I suspect that your answers are quite facetious as if mocking the entire Liebster process. Envy is such an unbecoming human trait but we Liebsters march through its stubby grass like giants.

    4. You are mistaken.
Liebster I think means boyfriend. I have always admired Freddie Mercury and unfortunately I'm safe from having to prove it. I was going to reply to all questions with...Freddie Mercury but it made less sense than the answers I gave and I didn't want to appear mocking or sarcastic.

    5. You - mocking or sarcastic? Never! That would be like The Pope wearing suspenders and stockings under his papal robes!

  3. Sir, MiLord, Your Highness, Whatever...

I do thank you for the nomination but I must respectfully decline the honour. P'raps if I were a decade or so younger I might've bean so inclined, but the older I get the more suspicious, I mean private I find myself becoming. Plus, an' most important of all, you ain't gettin' inside me 'ead that easily, guv'nor.

    1. What a shame that you have declined the invitation to join the exclusive Liebster community. The blogosphere was waiting with bated breath to discover the REAL Robert Brague - now we shall never know.

  4. Although I am very sniffy about these stupid award thingys, I must confess I am gutted not to have been nominated. I wouldn't mind but I had already written out my acceptance speech, taken industrial doses of antihistamine pills in order that folk might think my watery eyes were tears. And then you go and forget me. I'm not one to bare grudges or owt, however I'm glad Hull F.C. didn't win the World Cup... so there!

    1. Oh good Lord Lady Lettice! How could I have possibly overlooked you? I am so very, very sorry! As an act of penance could I possibly be your butler for a day - wearing only my leopard print Speedos and a bow tie?

  5. Sorry to be a party-pooper YP but I've been under the weather and so will regretfully decline. Perhaps I could pass my award on to Lettice Leaf ?

    1. That is I am afraid against the Liebster rules. It is disappointing that you don't wish to expose yourself to the world Helen. However, I humbly accept your rebuff on behalf of Liebsters everywhere.

  6. Thank you so much, Mr. Pudding. I accept, with pride, your challenge and your award. I have just this hour returned from my trip to those eastern mountains with my friends and will blog tomorrow with answers to your questions.
