3. Portugal (i.e. Portuguese man of war)
4. "Hello Goodbye"
5. Banks
6. Algeria
7. sausage
8. five minutes
9. The Netherlands
10. The Pentagon
I made a mistake with Q1. The saint associated with New Year's Eve is Saint Sylvester. Sorry about that.
DeleteOnce again, a poor score for me. I missed four (1,5,6,and 8).
ReplyDeleteSix out of ten makes you a genius compared with several other blog visitors!
DeleteI'm bragging that I got two right!!!
ReplyDeleteBut you were a teacher Keith! Teachers are supposed to know everything.
DeleteI got 1, 2, 3, and 7. Not great.
ReplyDeleteDon't be too hard on yourself Jennifer!
Delete1. New Years Eve, a total guess.
ReplyDelete2. Stand By Me.
3. No clue ...
4. Never would have gotten it.
5. The Banks' children.
6. Algeria!
7. A sausage.
8. Five; I guess.
9.I dunno.
10. Pentagon.
7 of ten?
Not bad young man!
Deletere No1. A good future question might be 'How did St Sebastien die? Most would answer by 'arrows', but in fact he survived that and was late clubbed to death. Now, of course, I've given the answer!
ReplyDeleteWas St Sebastian a seal?
DeleteI was let down by my complete lack of knowledge about golf and films. Huh.
ReplyDeleteMore revision required young lady!
Delete6, but the golf one was a good guess and other guesses went the wrong way! Tried for ages with the Beatles one but nothing....it's not one of their most famous songs is it? I knew that the Mary Poppins surname began with a B.....half a point??
ReplyDeleteSorry to mislead you with The Beatles song title. In error I put an "a" in there.
DeleteOnly 6 out of ten this week. I got Hello Goodbye, but where does the "a" fit in? Unless they spelled Hallo with the "a" instead of the "e".
ReplyDeleteI missed #3, #6 (thought it was Russia) #8 (sports pfft!) and #10.
Sorry to have confused you about the song title. In error I put an "a" in there. Now corrected.
DeleteI didn‘t know the answers to 6, 8 and 10.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your team! My regular pub quiz is on summer break. We‘ll be playing again in September.
Seven out of ten is pretty good.
DeleteI sent my answers in advance over a week ago.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to have to inform you that all of your answers were wrong. Sadly, Mystic Meg died last year.
DeleteBefore she died, she predicted you would change the questions.
DeleteShe also foresaw that you would be slapped by a big Yorkshire pudding!
DeleteGot seven right. Got wrong no.s 2,5 and 8. Technically answer to question 7 is a "Fried sausage". Wurst is just sausage. Braten is to fry. Just saying ;)
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be quite clever... about sausages ADDY! Thank you.
DeleteI knew the sausage.
ReplyDeleteI guessed you would know that one David.
Delete4 out of 6.
ReplyDeleteMmm... There were ten!
DeleteI can't even type my comment correctly today! No wonder I only got 4 out of the 10! ;)
Delete4/10. At least I still know my Mary Poppins! :) And Bratwurst, and the Boers - and I took a guess at St Sebastian. Here in Sweden, New Year's Eve is associated with a different name, though - Sylvester. Not sure if he was a saint, but it seems he was a pope! (Just looked it up.)
ReplyDeleteI made a mistake with Q1 Monica. Sorry.
DeleteGood to know that even the Quiz Master can make mistakes... ;-)
DeleteI did not know 1 or 8, and despite being a Beatles fan I could not figure out that anagram to save my life. I am terrible at anagrams.
ReplyDeleteAh well, seven isn't too bad.
DeleteI only got the one about the bratwurst. Gadfrey!
ReplyDeleteI got two right, which is quite pathetic, really, but I had a good laugh over Tasker's and your exchange!
ReplyDelete5/10.
