Okay valued visitor, what will you make of this quiz? All I am doing here is giving a one word clue for each picture but who are these famous people? Apart from one, all the others are deceased. As usual, answers will be given in the comments section.

I can hardly believe it but I got nine correct! I missed Dietrich, told myself it was Garbo.
ReplyDeleteWell done Deb! Go to the top of the class!
DeleteHooray for me! The only one I missed was Usain Bolt and once I knew, it was obvious.
ReplyDeleteJoin Deb at the top of the class.
DeleteI missed Athletics and Poetry.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean you absented yourself when you were at high school?
Delete6 out of 10. Gave Gandhi Nehru's name. Had no clue on Poetry or Athletics. And said Marlene was Hedy. Oh well. I think my best outing so far.
ReplyDeleteNot bad for a guy who sports a royal blue beret!
Delete1. No clue.
ReplyDelete2. Napoleon.
3. Che Guevara.
4. No clue.
5. Indira Gandhi.
6. Sylvia Plath.
7. Mandela.
8. Bolt.
9. Garbo.
10. Frida Kahlo.
I always think Garbo is Dietrich and Dietrich is Garbo!
Woody Guthrie I never would have gooten, or Madame Curie!
Another fine effort on behalf of THE DEMOCRATS. VOTE BLUE!
Delete9/10 I missed Usain Bol. Had I thought about longer, I think I would have got him too. I've no idea how I knew Woody Guthrie. Just the word folk and the rough age of the photo I suppose.
ReplyDeleteDon't fib Andrew! You know you are a big Woody Guthrie fan.
DeleteUnsurprisingly, I didn't know #4 (still don't know him), and stupidly, I didn't look properly at Indira Gandhi and took her for Golda Meir.
ReplyDeleteBut 8 out of 10 is not too bad pre-breakfast, is it!
Yes. Not bad at all. Woody Guthrie was a huge inspiration to Bob Dylan.
DeleteHooray, I got 8...best score yet, though my answers were more guesses from the headings than recognising some of them. Missed on 4 and 9!
ReplyDeleteGreat effort on behalf of Harpenden.
DeleteOnly 7 this time.
ReplyDeleteNot too bad JayCee.
DeleteAll I got was Marie Curie, Indira Ghandi and Nelson Mandela.
ReplyDeleteHave you been to an optician recently?
DeleteI got seven. Missed Guthrie, Ghandi, and Bolt.
ReplyDeleteI can understand why you'd miss Bolt - speeding by like a bullet.
DeleteI obviously have female issues and the only one I got right was Curie and it was a guess by the clue. Six for me.
ReplyDeleteTell me, what was your relationship with your mother like?
Delete60% this week.
ReplyDeleteHey, you are meant to be a brainbox David!
Delete6 out of 10! I'm happy with that...
ReplyDeleteFor a retired lady in the autumn of her life you should be happy Ellen!
DeleteEight out of ten. Pretty good for me:)
ReplyDeleteYes! For you that is amazing! Incredible!
Delete8/10 this time - I missed 4 and 8.
ReplyDeleteSurprising. I thought you would be a big Woody Guthrie fan Carol!
DeleteSeven right today. Good thing you picked obvious choices because I guessed most of them. Thanks, I needed the confidence boost :)
ReplyDeleteJust think how much you would have been boosted if you had scored 10 like Margie! See below,
Delete4 or 6, depending on if the Almighty Quizmaster accepts answers like "she who was married to that other scientist and they both got the Nobel prize", and "she who wrote Glaskupan" (the Swedish title of the novel The Bell Jar). (The names would probably have come to me sooner or later - I just didn't take the time to wait for them...) I too misstook Dietrich for Garbo.
ReplyDeleteThe ever generous Almighty Quizmaster says yes!
DeleteI got all but Bolt.
ReplyDeleteFrankenstein's monster got the bolt!
Delete10 out of 10 - Yeah!
ReplyDeleteNot just a pretty face Margie!
