In a whimsical Sunday morning moment, I decided to have a gander at my Geograph images to find photos that could be used to represent the four seasons. By the way, I have uploaded 18,000 photos to Geograph in the last fifteen years so there were plenty to choose from.
I am sure that if I performed this exercise tomorrow, I would probably come up with four different pictures. That's in the nature of such choosing. It's subjective and depends on the mood you are in.
Anyway, here goes with locations listed afterwards.

Spring
Oh I love the Winter!
ReplyDeleteYou could order one of those angels for your grave too Bob!
DeleteMy favorite of these is Autumn. It's also my favorite season.
ReplyDeleteOf the four photos, that is the one that pleases me most.
DeleteThere's huge benefit from having a large collection of very good photos.
ReplyDeleteOne of the benefits of digital photography.
DeleteA good selection, YP!
ReplyDeleteThank you Spruce!
DeleteIt‘s good to live in a part of the world with different seasons, and even better to live with them.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are all good representations of the four seasons.
Much as I like summer, and have been really enjoying what good weather we‘ve been having, I am looking forward to autumn with its cool nights, beautiful colours and abundance of fruit, nuts and berries.
There is loveliness in every season in spite of grey days and rain.
DeleteI really like that path through the trees, I could walk along that for a couple of hours and be happy.
ReplyDeleteAnd I could walk with you - if you trusted me!
DeleteI trust you.
DeleteIf I had to pick a photo depicting Summer here it would be of a stormy, rain lashed scene!
ReplyDeleteThat would be an IoM summer or possibly a Sheep's Head Peninsula summer.
DeleteAlways spring for me, new beginnings.
ReplyDeleteHave you got springs tied to your feet - like Zebedee?
DeleteYour Seasons wouldmake a great photo calendar YP.
ReplyDeleteYou could get three months per picture. Cheaper that way.
DeleteThe first is so appropriate for us at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThe second makes me wonder why the couple are facing away from the sea. Maybe in the direction of the sun.
The third is just a beautiful photo.
Four makes me shiver.
Thieves! You are about to steal our summer.
DeleteThey are all good photos, but for me Autumn is just perfect. The one season I miss, living so far south in Europe. I can just imagine walking with the dog through the woods, kicking up the leaves as we go, surrounded by those glorious autumn colours.
ReplyDeleteI will join you on the walk - as long as your dog does not bite! Then we could have coffee in "The Shelter" cafe and talk about the meaning of life and the price of baked beans. More or less the same thing.
DeleteEach season has its own beauty and each of your photos speak to that. The daffodils in spring are a promise of sunshine after a gray and cold winter.
ReplyDeleteThank you Diaday. Nice response.
DeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteAn excellent assortment! I also think I favor "Autumn," but "Winter" is good too.
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I always value your reactions to pictures Steve.
Delete18,000 photos! You certainly take a LOT of photos, Neil. I remember the old days when I had to bring the roll of film in to get it developed and then half of those photos would be no good!
ReplyDeleteYou made good choices for the seasons.
When we used costly film, we were often reluctant to press the button but now we can snap away till the cows come home.
DeleteThat is a lot of images, how large is your archive?
ReplyDeleteI guess around 100,000 - all sitting in the hard drive of this computer.
DeleteMuch better than the usual four seasons pictures that I see. Yours are very good.
ReplyDeleteThat is kind of you Deb. Thank you.
DeleteI applaud your choices.
ReplyDeleteI put my head out of the window but failed to hear you clapping Graham.
