To the right of this blogpost I have a list of blogs that I have often visited. Historically, they have been my favourites but time marches on and things change. New blogs come along or old ones get mothballed.
Spring is traditionally a time for cleaning up and I think it is time to address my blog list. It will be sad to say goodbye to Adrian's Images, Hippo on the Lawn and Tannu Tuva but I will be happy to replace them with "new" bloggers I have connected with in the last year or so.
In order to prepare for this process I studied my blog list. It is possible that the resulting image proves that the custodian of this blog is stark raving mad but I don't care....
The "new" bloggers I intend to add to my bloglist are Sue of "Susan Here There and Everywhere" fame, Jenny author of "Procrastinating Donkey", ADDY ("Alcoholic Daze") and Derek Faulkner ("Letters from Sheppey"). If any of these bloggers wish to lodge angry protests they should refer them to my solicitor Mr Robert H. Brague at 'Slash and Burn Blogging Attorneys', Mill Creek Avenue, Canton, Georgia USA.
Still honoured to be on your list..and i am impressed with your graphics
ReplyDeleteCheers Johnno!
Deleteyou choose the good ones!
ReplyDeleteDamn! I apologise for any offence I may have caused unwittingly. I want to add "Eclectica" as well. Is that okay Kylie?
Deleteno offence taken! add eclectica at your peril ;)
DeleteI wasn't very active today.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I arrived back home from paying a visit to the supermarket, and after I finished unpacking my purchases I spent the rest of the day reading the newspaper, snoozing, reading more of the paper, and then I caught up with a couple of recorded TV shows.
So, as you can see, I was inactive for the greater part of the day.
However, today was a public holiday here, and that being the case,I did go out into the public domain, albeit briefly. After that brief mingle, I believed I had been active enough, and deserved to spend the rest of the day being inactive.
This is classed as "intermittent activity". Have no fear Lee - I shall not be removing KC from my bloglist.
DeleteI wasn't referring to blog or computer activity, Yorkie, but that of the physical kind. Not much physical activity was expended (and, now that I think about it, I didn't spend much time on my computer, either). I was in a lazy mood and succumbed to the mood!
DeleteIt's nice to know I shall not be removed! :)
I was just about to say "where the hell am I then?" until I continued reading. Chuffed to pieces, thank you Mr Pudding.
ReplyDeleteWho needs an M.B.E. when you have made the Yorkshire Pudding bloglist?
DeleteThank you for including me! Most of these bloggers are such great writers that I feel humbled in their presence.
ReplyDeleteI feel like a humbug in my own presence.
DeleteI will try to do better
ReplyDeleteYou have been wilfully neglecting your homework young lady!
DeleteI totally understand. Thank you for keeping my blog on your list for so long. I'm off showing chickens mostly, and overwhelmed with trying to maintain this place I live on. Also, the political news in this country has me miffed most of the time and I don't want to drag innocent blog readers down with that. Please do add your list of active bloggers, I trust your judgement and enjoy investigating your list from time to time. And, of course, I'll still come here everyday.
ReplyDeleteIn blogging terms, I could never dump you Jan. We go back a long way now.
DeleteI think your illustration shows you know how to do something on the computer that I wish I could do! Thank you for including my blog, YP. I'm glad I started reading yours. You have a great sense of humour.
ReplyDeleteGreat sense of humour? Did you hear this joke?...
DeleteQ How do you get 50 Canadians out of a swimming pool?
A. You say "Please get out of the swimming pool."
Hah! I wish it were true :)
DeleteYou mean there are awkward, impolite Canadians? Gosh! I don't believe it!
DeleteLike Jennifer, I feel honoured to be on your reading list. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHonoured? I hope you know how to curtsy Meike!
DeleteAs usual you have done your research on this issue. I've gone through from time to time to take things off. Not fun.
ReplyDeleteIt does involve a lot of faffing about doesn't it Red?
DeleteI really need to tackle my blog list. "Weed" it, if you will. I have a couple of friends on my list who haven't blogged for years, and I doubt they ever will again, but somehow removing them seems cruel!
ReplyDeleteI know you like nurturing plants Steve but the blogs you refer to have withered away as if sprayed with "Round-Up". Follow my example and pull 'em up.
DeleteI am glad to have made your acquaintance here in Virtual Reality Land, and am pleased you have deigned to keep my dwindling blogposts in your sights. Still, no matter what you or I choose to do, the following will be true of both of us eventually:
ReplyDeleteThe Moving Finger writes; and having writ
Moves on: nor all your Piety or Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.
For the benefit of less cultured visitors than RWP, this verse is from Edward Fitzgerald's 1859 translation of the poem The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyam. Essentially I think it means we are all responsible for what we do and what we write. It cannot be changed.
DeleteAnd I thank both of you: RWP for offering up the verse, and YP for giving the Coles Notes* explanation :)
DeleteFor the benefit of non-Canadians, Coles Notes are student guides to literature. Also called Cliffs Notes in the U.S., and, apparently, YPs Notes in the UK.
How dare you Jenny! I have never been so insulted! Now I am incandescent with rage.... GRRRRR!
DeleteWhat??! You were just being helpful! Like any former teacher! (said the one whose mother is a retired teacher)
DeleteNo objection YP. I do the same, when bloggers on my list fall by the wayside and I search for more interesting ones. (Whatever became of Hippo? I do worry about him.)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're not booting me out for inactivity YP!
