Terrorist

Yesterday, there was a big right wing rally in central London. Ironically, those who gathered probably all voted to leave The European Union in 2017. Brexit continues to hang like a heavy millstone around our nation's neck and it is the chief cause of many economic woes and tensions in our midst.

Several large screens with speakers had been erected at great expense. I wonder who paid for them? Mmm... the answer to that was soon to become clear. The screens flickered and a very big head appeared from Texas, USA. It was none other than the world's richest man and DOGE buddy of the current president. Yes - Elon Musk now performing like Big Brother in George Orwell's "1984". But this is real life, not fiction and it is 2025 not that other year.

Incredibly, chillingly but characteristically I suppose, Mad Musk called for a “dissolution of parliament” and a “change of government” in my country.  As reported in "The Guardian", Musk railed against the “woke mind virus” and told the crowd that “violence is coming” and that “you either fight back or you die”.

He said: “I really think that there’s got to be a change of government in Britain. You can’t – we don’t have another four years, or whenever the next election is, it’s too long. Something’s got to be done. There’s got to be a dissolution of parliament and a new vote held.”

He continued: “There’s so much violence on the left, with our friend Charlie Kirk getting murdered in cold blood this week and people on the left celebrating it openly. The left is the party of murder and celebrating murder. I mean, let that sink in for a minute, that’s who we’re dealing with here.”

Musk was wrong on so many levels. Left wingers and Democrats have universally condemned the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Musk's way of looking at the world is warped and dangerous. Also - what sane person of influence would deliberately seek to stoke up a febrile crowd of right wingers?  Later, the demonstration descended into violence and at least twenty six police officers were injured. Thanks Elon!

But more than this... What is a privileged businessman from a foreign country doing interfering in our nation's politics? He does not live here and he clearly has a piecemeal, selective picture of Britain's political scene that he has moulded to fit his own fascist prejudices. Furthermore, he is not wise. He is a cunning, manipulative and no doubt clever moneymaker but that does not make him wise nor does it make him politically astute or kindly.

Let's erect big video screens outside Musk's Texan sultanate in the middle of nowhere and tell him in no uncertain words to  eff off! And keep your big head out of Britain you pasty-faced billionaire wazzock! Is that enough "woke mind virus" for you? Well, I have got another thing to say chum - your appearance yesterday was a form of terrorism. Yes, you are a terrorist!

  1. Could not agree more with your sentiments YP. This is just an attempt to stir up hatred and violence. Musk has been thrown out of the heart of US government, so he's now looking to cause unrest elsewhere, and to try to make sure that he's still at the centre of things. He needs to be banned from coming anywhere near Europe - not just the UK. He's just another big-mouthed Putin lacky and will no doubt try to cause dissent throughout Europe so that Vlad can walk in and take over.

  2. I could not agree more. Why Elon Musk feels entitled to interfere in Britain's politics and government is beyond me. And why anyone would listen to him is beyond me, too.

  3. I just read the other day that he is no longer the richest man in the world. He has slipped to #2. Why anyone would listen to him is beyond me. He made a mess of things here and now he is trying to wreck your country too. Just say no.
I enjoyed your lovely memories of Sri Lanka yesterday.

    1. He did sink to #2 for a few days but now he is back up there. And yes... Sri Lanka was so lovely. It is unlikely that I will ever go there again - except in my memories.

  4. So, I take it you don't like him then?

  5. Debbie said something perceptive, which is that social media is intent on driving us all apart. Probably there were Brexiteers, but watching a few minutes of it live, I got the impression that most of those marching wanted a return to traditional British values like fairness, tolerance, restraint, a place of safety for those in need, and to take pride in our country, as the French do in theirs. But others, such as Robinson and Musk, have been allowed to hijack the narrative and portray it as extreme right-wingers, which is everything the majority of marchers were against.

    2. That's diplomatic of you, YP. I was a bit surprised by Tasker's comment. I mean, it was no secret that "Tommy Robinson" was organising the march.

    4. Thanks for that link Marcie. I read it. All very sinister and I am confident that there were parallels in London last Saturday. Naive people are being manipulated. The future looks so deleterious.

  6. Another waste of skin. When I think of the good he could do in the world with his money, eliminate child poverty, clean drinking water, vaccination programs, and what he actually does with his money, it makes me sick.

  8. On political matters we don't always share the same narrative, but I'm totally behind you on this post, too many rich 'men' interfering in world politics, being a successful business man does not make you a good person.

  9. I agree. And Musk is not even a "clever moneymaker". He has received billions in funding from the US government for his businesses. Without those he would have much less money in his pocket. Just look at how quickly he lost money on Tesla when he was busy with his DOGE project and people boycotted Tesla products. He should be staying out of politics altogether, and so should a lot of other billionaires, but this is where we are. Protests are one of the few ways cooler heads can fight back, and I was glad to hear there were counter protests in London as well.

    1. He has certainly been given a huge "leg up" by US authorities and sponsors. I applaud youthful protesters.

  12. I agree with you and all the comments above. Turmoil and revolution is how the oligarchy get richer, secure their grip on more of the world's resources and exploit labour markets. What I find remarkable is the very people being exploited by that class support the politics of said class of wealthy extreme right 'wassocks' (good word that)

One could make a similar comment about the mass of Labour party activists who travelled to the US in an attempt to influence their internal politics....

    1. One could but that isn’t the subject here.

    2. The term "mass" is a huge exaggeration and the few who went there were assisting Democrat admin and knocking on doors. They weren't on big screens encouraging insurrection.

  15. How did the world get like this?
Why does Elon think he has any say?
Why did the UK and Australia have these abhorrent marches?
Why has Charlie Kirk become a martyr?
I don't think I remember a world where hate was so acceptable.

Also, doesn't he know how to use Google to look up the next election?

  16. It's an Alice in Wonderland world. It is now perfectly acceptable to tell lies and allow stupid people to run countries. Unfortunately leaders are just sitting back and not doing anything in the hope it will go away. Did not know Musk was a cocaine addict his nose hasn't fallen off yet, or grown longer.

  20. A typical left wing post. You can't stand anyone that doesn't agree with your narrative. You crap on about 26 injured police but fail to mention that there were only 25 arrests. How many arrests were there at the Nottingham carnival?? Way more. You are just so full of hate for anyone that doesn't follow the lefties narrative it's sickening. We are all entitled to our opinions and l respect yours but there is no need for all the hate that comes from the left.

    1. I am certainly not filled with hate P.Wright. I am filled with goodness and love for my fellow human beings. I suspect that you were referring to the Notting Hill Carnival and not the Nottingham Carnival. Actually, I am not even sure that Nottingham holds an annual carnival but the city has its famous Goose Fair. Have you ever been to it? I once took a busload of underprivileged schoolchildren there. They had a whale of a time.
