Sandy

Sandy Denny (1947-1978) sings "Who Knows Where The Time Goes?" - a song she wrote herself at the age of nineteen:-

Across the evening sky, all the birds are leaving
But how can they know it's time for them to go?
Before the winter fire, I will still be dreaming
I have no thought of time

For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?

  1. What a pure, sweet voice. Beautiful! I am sorry to say that I never heard of or encountered Ms. Denny whilst I was in "the business." I am sorry she died so young as many of our "folk" musicians did. I am glad I survived to enjoy my middle and late years surrounded and loved by my family. That picture with her and her guitar?......give her white-blond hair and her countenance could be mine.

    1. You should get hold of some of her music MT. She was in an English folk-rock-traditional band called Fairport Convention for part of her short career.

  2. Her time to go was certainly early, what a shame.

    1. She fell down the stairs and hit her head. At first the doctor seems to have half-dismissed the resulting headache. There was a swelling deep inside her brain. But there were other "issues" surrounding her death - not least the disappearance of her Australian husband with their baby, Georgia.

    1. Yes. I did see her live with Fairport Convention not long before she split. I shall leave my secret email address at your place rather than here.
