Well, it has been a while since I last concocted a quiz for your entertainment or disgruntlement. It's way past time for another one. As you know, some famous people are mononymous - like the Glaswegian singer Lulu for example. Her real first name was always Marie. What were the birth forenames of these ten people? 2. Edson Arantes Do Nascimento (aka Pele) looked like Miles Davis.
Miles's Kind of Blue and John Coltrane's Ballads are my favourite albums.

And I failed your Quiz just as I failed at everything else. Zero out of Ten.
The rest is silence as Hamlet said to Horatio.

    1. I thought that at least you would know "Rasputin" as that is what the Glasgow street urchins yell at you when you walk over the Gorbals bridge.

  3. Lol, 0/10. I would have thought I guessed at least one correct answer.

  9. I answered six correctly. I wavered between Gianni and Giovanni on the last one and went with the wrong answer.

    1. Lots of women wavered between Gianni and Giovanni then went for Casanova instead.

  10. Six for me this time. Not too bad, but not exactly good, either. But then again, celebrities are not my specialty. By the way, it's not Michaelangelo, but Michelangelo. But I am sure you knew that and it was just a typo.

  11. Oh dear, I only got 4! I knew Gordon and Lesley and 7 and 8 were lucky guesses.

  12. Ouch, only 4 - and even those were just guesses. I think I may have had a "hunch" with the first two (Sting and Cher) - but without the alternatives, I wouldn't have been able to dig the answers out of my brain. And with all the rest I had no clue at all. Just not the kind of facts that I tend to store in my memory!!

  13. 5/10, which is much better than I expected when I saw the picture at the top! I guessed 2, but knew 5, 6, 8 and 10!

  14. Dismal failure - just 4. Even my guesses were wildly out.

  15. 2 wrong, and I was convinced Bono was Patrick just because he's Irish.

  16. When I read yesterday’s post I thought it was a while since you had done a quiz and hoped you wouldn’t do one on the Grammys. This was close enough 6/10 for me

  20. I did not know Pele or Rihanna.

I always read that Cher's real name was Cherilyn, but now I see on Wikipedia that this oft-reported factoid was never true. Her birth certificate says Cheryl. You learn something new every day!

  21. "I did not know Pele or Rihanna"... No? I knew them well. We were at university together along with Joni Mitchell and Muhammad Ali.
