  1. And YOUR point, YP, is . . .? But thanks for providing me with a laugh. If it weren't for my trust in you and your blog I'd never seen this clip. I don't tend to give Trump either air or twitter time.

    1. My point is - how on earth can this boorish oaf with false hair, false teeth and a false tan possibly be looking at a second term? Thanks for calling by again Ursula.

  2. On top of being ignorant, he's a true racist. Anyone who's ever seen Gone With The Wind knows what I'm talking about.

    1. Clearly, he hasn't even seen "Parasite" so his remarks were literally prejudiced.

    2. He is unable to read the subtitles.

  3. Aww. You've got to love him. Bless his little cotton socks. So sweet and innocent.

  4. His behavior - and the support he gets for it - is truly disgusting.

    1. Thankfully at least 50% of Americans can see right through this dangerous fake leader so not all hope is lost.

    2. Actually it is more than 50% and yet we may get him again thanks to Russia and our own crazy electoral college system

    3. The Democrats need a candidate who can defeat Trump. That cannot be Joe Biden. Perhaps Elizabeth Warren will come through. What do you think Claudia?

  5. Just one more foolish remark from a foolish and dangerous man. I cannot bear to look at him or hear his words. I have an app on my computer browser that replaces all pictures of Trump with pictures of kittens!

  10. Wow! If that's the worst headline of the week, it must have been a great week!

(I noted you didn't mention a word about hard-faced Pelosi tearing up the State of the Union speech a couple of weeks ago. That was an insult to the whole Nation...Democrats and Republicans, alike, and to Independents).

As for your comment about false teeth...I have some false teeth...and am thankful I have. If you still have all your natural teeth...be thankful you have, but don't ridicule those who do have false teeth.

    1. I mention his false features - the hair, the tan and the teeth because he is always rattling on about "fake news" when even his appearance is fake. Though I did not admire Nancy Pelosi's petulant act I can appreciate her frustration. After all, the Republicans had just cynically undermined the legitimate impeachment process.

Unlike Trump, I have seen "Parasite" with an open mind and recognise its Oscar-winning merits. The Oscars are about the film industry - not exclusively the American film industry. Trump seems incapable of understanding that.

By the way Lee, you appear to be the only visitor who comes to the defence of Trump - not just now but in relation to previous posts too. I wonder what it is exactly that you like about Trump? What admirable qualities does he possess in your opinion?

      Delete
    2. And...your point is? Would you rather I be a blind follower of everything you say, Yorkie...agree with everything you say and believe in? I've never been a disciple of any kind, of any one...I'm not about to start now...

I don't...and I will not be a hypocrite just to appease you...and others who think the way you do about certain things.

I've been clear in the past regarding my beliefs...and normally...you may have noticed...or may not have noticed...I don't pass comment on political posts. You know which side of the fence I sit on.

Would you prefer it if I agreed with everything you say?

      Delete
    3. Of course not. You are mis-reading my response entirely. There is absolutely no way I would ever want other people to think exactly the same as me. That would be both ridiculous and unhealthy. You say you do not pass comment on political posts and yet you referred to Nancy Pelosi ripping up Trump's "State of the Union" speech. That reference was clearly political.

I was just trying to understand why you support Trump but I respect your right to refuse to answer.

      Delete
    4. And, I continually try to understand why you have to revert to sarcasm in an attempt to get your point...your beliefs across.

Re Pelosi...as I am sure you were aware, but you figured it was worth your while pointing out to me my bringing her name into the equation...I mentioned her act, her childish action because it appeared to go unnoticed by you...or not worthy of mention because she is a Leftie, and can do no wrong. I can't imagine what would have been said if Trump had done similar. :)

I'd rather you respect my right to have my own beliefs, political or otherwise, even if they don't fall in line with your own.

I've said previously...I believe it is a folly to go into a lengthy written word political debate via a forum such as a blog. I am of the belief that a man of your intelligence would agree that such an undertaking would silly, and the outcome would benefit neither you, nor I.

      Delete
    5. You seem to be annoyed with me - at least that is how it comes across. You make unfounded and unfair insinuations about the way I think. I find this all quite puzzling and upsetting. In my opinion blogs can be good places to air political views so I do not agree that "such an undertaking" would be silly.

      Delete
    6. Some things need to be said. You have said what you wanted to say; and so have I. You have your opinions, which is your right; I have mine, which is my right.

Some lines need to be drawn, and I am drawing a line...a line indicating this discussion, on my part, anyway, is at an end. Points were made by both you and by me.

You certainly don't have to agree with anything I say; and vice versa. It is a two-way street we tread.

Annoyed? No, I'm not annoyed with you, Yorkie. I'm annoyed with myself, perhaps, for breaking my rule of not making political comments in blogs.

All is good. As I said you have your opinions and beliefs; I have mine....some are similar; some are not. No points are being scored.

I'm sure you and your friends out there in the 'real' world don't all share the same beliefs, thoughts, opinions on everything. I have very good friends, some of whom think differently to how I do about certain things...and vice versa...but we remain very good friends.

By the way...drifting slightly off-topic...slightly to the right or to the left, whichever way you hang....here's a bit of trivia for you to digest while waiting to drop off to sleep tonight...

"The Artist is a 2011 French comedy-drama film in the style of a black-and-white silent film or part-talkie. Written, directed, and co-edited by Michel Hazanavicius, and produced by Thomas Langmann, the film stars Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo. The story takes place in Hollywood, between 1927 and 1932, and focuses on the relationship of an older silent film star and a rising young actress as silent cinema falls out of fashion and is replaced by the "talkies".

The Artist received widespread critical acclaim and won many accolades. Dujardin won Best Actor at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, where the film premiered. The film was nominated for six Golden Globes, the most of any 2011 film, and won three: Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Original Score, and Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for Dujardin. In January 2012, the film was nominated for twelve BAFTAs, the most of any film from 2011,[14] and won seven, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor for Dujardin, and Best Original Screenplay for Hazanavicius.

It was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won five, including Best Picture, Best Director for Hazanavicius, and Best Actor for Dujardin, making him the first French actor ever to win in this category. It was also the first French-produced film to win Best Picture, and the first mainly silent film to win since 1927's Wings won at the 1st Academy Awards in 1929. It was also the first film presented in the 4:3 aspect ratio to win since 1953's From Here to Eternity. Additionally, it was the first black-and-white film to win since 1993's Schindler's List, though the latter contained limited colour sequences; it was the first 100% black-and-white film to win since 1960's The Apartment."

  12. I'm now waiting for his pronouncements on other creative works: what he thinks about works of literature, art, music, architecture ... Maybe we could guess. For a start, Choi isn't a very American sounding name, and wouldn't it have been better if the Nobel Prize for Literature had gone to an American rather than an Austrian. What was all that about?

    1. It is always heartening to connect with American people who can see through Trump. Mistakenly, I think that some of the others see Trump as a "man of the people" which is most definitely not what he is.

    2. Trump was a deeply unpopular person with a lot of people in Scotland long before his rise to become TGL. But, of course, he is a Man of The People. His Mother was born in a house like mine (was 80 years ago) and only 5 or so miles as the crow flies from where I am typing this.

  15. What bothers me the most, I think, is that he has destroyed and torn up our beautiful Constitution in such a short amount of time. I think that is much more horrible than Nancy tearing up his speech which was just a rerun of his campaign speech, full of lies and degredating every one he can think of. I thought we were stronger than that. But, since there are no time limits on our public servants in Congress, and since they only care about their jobs as he does his, there is nobody who will hold him to account. Not even when they realize that what he has done is obstruct justice.

Now, I have said before that Trump will win a second term and that term will take us down a road that we will probably never be able to climb up again. So sad and so abhorrent to every sane citizen of this country. He will not debate the Democratic candidate which, with Russia's help, more than likely will be Mr. Sanders. Those Independents and moderate undecided Republicans will not vote for Mr. Sanders but will vote for Trump or not vote at all.

As for his wanting "Gone With the Wind" to come back.....we all know that Trump is a racist and he loves the power of war ...... and if ever a racist movie was make, it was GWtW! It was about the Civil War, for goodness sake. And that war was about slavery, in no small part. Ever notice how all the slaves in that movie are so happy???

    1. The Democrats seem to be eating themselves up. I wish there was a candidate who truly fitted the bill to fight Trump and win back the hearts and minds of the majority. Surely, Bernie Sanders is not the one to do that. Middle Americans could not accept his leftism could they? And as for Bloomberg - he makes my blood curdle.

      Delete
    2. You are exactly right, sir. Middle America will not accept Mr. Sanders. That is exactly why Donald wants him to get the nomination. And, the intelligence community told Bernie last week and told members of Congress this week that they had proof that Russians were interfering in the primaries on his behalf. So, Donald fired the acting Secretary and replaced him with the yo-yo who has been the ambassador to Germany.

    3. I wish that Amy Klobuchar was coming through more strongly but she appears to have lost her way now. And Pete Buttigieg seems like a lightweight. Who is there to beat Trump? The guy is laughing all the way back to The White House - in spite of everything.
