As you probably know, there's a big football festival happening in North America right now. It's the 23rd World Cup tournament and forty eight teams are competing for The Jules Rimet Trophy. In this exciting edition of Quiztime, you will be given ten blurry flags with four countries named after each flag. But to which of these countries do the flags belong? As usual the answers will be supplied in the comments section.

My score was awful, and I thought I was good at flags! That's all I'm going to say. (hanging my head in shame)
ReplyDeletePlease don't end your life Kelly! You have lots to live for, including the end of D.J.Trump.
Delete8/10. I missed #1 because my old atlas doesn't have that flag listed only the Union Jack, and missed #7 because my old atlas doesn't have the Czech republic listed. I did cheat by looking up Jordan and Morocco.
ReplyDeleteNO CHEATING!
DeleteI reckon my peak knowledgeability about flags was when I was about 10 or 11.
ReplyDeleteSo you mean your score on this quiz was embarrassingly low?
DeleteTwist the knife, YP. I wasn't even sure about Belgium/Germany, that spooked me for France/Netherlands and then I even started doubting England.
DeleteAre you waving a white flag then?
DeleteUncle!
DeleteI got 7 right. Thank you for providing me with a practice round in view of tomorrow night's last Pub Quiz at my local before the summer break!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the quiz.
DeleteP.S. Why not take your smartphone and then visit The Ladies during the quiz to find difficult answers?
That would rob me of all the fun, and you know it.
DeleteNever been interested in flags , so only got 5!
ReplyDeleteThe flag of Hertfordshire depicts a brown stag taking a rest after rutting.
Delete5/10. I did better than I thought, surprisingly getting Czech.
ReplyDeleteA good score for an Aussie!
Delete9/10…missed Czech Republic
ReplyDeleteWell done! I bet The Czech Republic didn't miss you my friend!
DeleteI've never been good at flags. I only felt confident about three, and didn't find it meaningful to randomly guess about the rest...
ReplyDeleteMaybe I will make a quiz on IKEA and ABBA - just for you!
DeletePlease don't... I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get full points even on those! ;) I just don't tend to fill my memory with typical quiz kind of facts...
DeleteIs there a football festival going on somewhere? Thanks for letting me know, I hadn't realised.
ReplyDeleteWere you in that song by The Who - "Pinball Wizard"?
DeleteI got 5, 8, 9, and 10 correct.
ReplyDeleteAbysmal showing.
Oh dear! I thought you were a smart guy Bob!
Delete60%, not my best topic. When I was in school we called that game kickball.
ReplyDeleteFootball (not soccer and not American football) is the world's most loved sport. Nobody outside of the USA ever called it "kickball"!
DeleteI don't know flags well enough so I'm not trying...
ReplyDeleteI thought you would know number five Ellen!
DeleteI missed two -- Belgium and Jordan.
