  1. Never in a million years did I expect an award from the formidable Mr. Pudding. I honestly, truly do not deserve any award. I am a lazy blogger. But.....(Hand over heart) I promise to do better with my blog in 2015. Thanks for the encouragement! Happy New Year!!!!!

  3. As she awakes from (somewhere) the evening in Haddon Hall, she is puzzled (no humbled) to find a prestigious Braggezzi brooch attached to her bodice. Could it be hers? Yes it is. She will wear the maroon Laughing Horse brooch with pride every day ~ and when asked by an inquisitive teenager "What's that Miss?" she will be able to preach to (convert) another unsuspecting young soul to the joys (the power, the beauty) of reading and writing. Thank You YP for the invite to another cracker party!

    1. Congratulations to Mieke BTW, on receiving the coveted gold Braggezzi brooch. It was nice to see Tom in Angola rise from the proverbial dead last night ~ and not disappoint with another unique story from Angola. That boy really should write a book ~ if it doesn't land him in jail. So good news for Meike, that the Blog of the Year award does not mean a kiss of death.

    1. I bet you were really hoping to get the "Nicest Male Blogger" award? ...Little chance of that Cap'n!

    1. We East Yorkshire folk have to look after one another (even though you were raised a Glaswegian!).

  6. Smiling and applauding for Meike. May she continue to serve the blogging community with wit and in good health throughout 2015!! Speech! Speech!

    1. Yeah! Where is her acceptance speech?

  7. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This was totally unexpected - a complete surprise, and of course it all happened so sudden that I did not have time to prepare the kind of tearful speech usually seen at the Academy Awards and usually ending in "God bless you all" or some other unrelated statement.
Also, had I known beforehand of this great honour being bestowed on me, I would have made sure to wear something more suitable than the outfit that could easily win the Bad Taste Award 2014. Thankfully, the widget is large enough to cover most of it.

I shall now go to my own blog and think of something appropriate to write in response.

  8. Congratulations to Meike! Thanks for giving her this award. If not for Meike, I would not have my blog! She deserves it!

    1. Meike is many things Kay. Did you know that she is the official Yorkshire Ambassador for all of southern Germany? She is also kind to small animals and babies.

    2. Mmmm.... I wonder if I fit into the category of small animal or baby?

  9. Nicest Male Blogger?! Thank you. I'm sure that's meant as a compliment. I shall explain that statement in a nice post on my blog soon.

    1. The awards committee were surely thinking of your pleasant character Graham and not your rugged Hebridean appearance! Remember - it's nice to be nice!

  10. Congratulations Meike!! A well-deserved award!
And thanks for my revolutionary award too YP, though not sure our revolution will be won from the comfort of my settee and laptop!
Happy new year to each and every one of you!!!
