I missed three and have no legitimate excuse for doing so. I went with the US over Mexico for the longest shoreline, missed the number of Mexican states, and picked the wrong explorer. I'll try to do better next time.
ReplyDeleteHonesty is your best quality Kelly.
Delete1.c
ReplyDelete2. a
3. b
4 . a
5. all of them
6. Gulf of Mexico
7. Gulf of Mexico

Oops. I didn't read #5 correctly. Of the others I missed, I have no excuse. Make Me Great Again! Please.
I missed one...number of Mexican states that border the Gulf of Mexico.
ReplyDeleteI got 7/10. Thanks for all those softballs or I would have done a lot worse, LOL!
ReplyDelete1. You'd think the US but I'm going with Mexico since it is the Gulf of Mexico .... and always will be no matter what the buffon says.
ReplyDelete2. I just read today that it was 1550.
3. Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas = 5
4 3 is a total guess.
5. Gulf of Mexico.
6. Gulf of Mexico.
7. Gulf of Mexico.
8. Vespucci.
9 Gulf of Mexico.
10. Havana.
I did very well, though it helped a few questions had the same exact answer!!!
UPDATE: this very morning our local weatherman referred to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.
DeleteI let the station, the news director and the offending weatherman have it.
I got #3 and #4 mixed up and missed 8. Not a stunning grade. C-
ReplyDelete8 out of 10 for me, I didn't know Mexico had states, and didn't know which explorer named the Gulf of Mexico.
ReplyDeleteMy missed three were the same as Kelly's. I wasn't sure about the number of bordering states and equally uncertain about the miserable looking man with the red cap and green cape; could have been Magellan just as well.
ReplyDelete1. Coincidently I was looking at the coast line today, as Google Maps here has renamed it in brackets as Gulf of America, with Gulf of Mexico still dominant. Mexico looked to have a longer coast line.
ReplyDeleteI had 2, 3, and 4 wrong.
So, that is 7 correct.
Too easy this time.
ReplyDeleteI have visited Havana, back in the noughties. Quite an experience..crumbling beauty, lively people, noise and movement. I wonder how much it has changed now.
Much to my surprise I got 8 ! Are you trying to make a point about the G of M?
ReplyDeleteI kind of gave up guessing and decided to just answer "Mexico" or "The Gulf of Mexico" when I did not know - which proved a rather successful strategy in this quiz... ;-) (I did also know Havana, though, and the map was somewhat helpful...)
ReplyDeleteHa! I missed nos. 2 and 4, but I heartily agree with your underlying message that this body of water is in fact THE GULF OF MEXICO.
ReplyDeleteBrain not in action today, so none . . . well, apart from the anagram.
ReplyDeleteI think my best ever, 90%. I know little about the geography of Mexico, I overestimated the number of State in Mexico that border the Gulf. Sorry about our @sshole President, I voted against him.
ReplyDeleteClever one today.
ReplyDeleteI only got 2 wrong (#3 & #4) which is pretty good for me.
ReplyDeleteI don't know enough about that part of the world to intelligently answer the quiz questions. The Gulf of Mexico, what a sad little man who would want to rename it. I'm guessing his dick doesn't work anymore, so he has to find news ways to amuse himself.
