Write a blogpost titled "Procrastination" with pressing items that are (amusingly) crossed out using the "strike through"icon

  1. I haven't had a to-do list in years. For a while I had a "done" list, where I wrote things as they got done but I scrapped that idea too.

    1. I think I might make a hit list but don't worry Elsie - you will not be on it.

  2. The title reeled me in, then I was indeed amused by the very long list. So when can Nova Scotia expect your visit? Or are all the struck out items never going to happen? :)

    1. Nova Scotia might happen - I have done some basic research.

  3. Ominous news re Clint, to be cast off for a younger model!

I note that you don't say "reread" "Middlemarch." So what about "The Mill on the Floss"?

    1. Yes. I have read "The Mill on the Floss" which I very much enjoyed. I find that in late adulthood, nineteenth century novels are much easier to read then when I was a teenager or even at university.

    2. I partly asked about "The Mill on the Floss" because I did that at school so thought it possible you taught it at some point. (And I'm pretty sure it's shorter than Mm.) "Middlemarch" for me not until English III at university.

  4. Well, you can certainly cross out the last item on your list, but why is the "My To-Do List" crossed out when not all items on the list are?
A propos Bert, I meant to ask a few times whether you've been to see him lately but always forgot before hitting "publish" on my comment. Maybe I should make a to-ask list.

    1. Only the "To Do" part is crossed out. I must go down to see Bert very soon. One issue is that he often does not get up until three in the afternoon!

  5. entry number one on my "to do" list is always "write a to do list"..... closely followed by "tick off an item on the to do list" - it's amazing how quickly i can gain some momentum

  6. It's hard work being a retired person.

  7. I have just bought myself a new shopping list pad. It has 'To Do List' written at the top of every page. I couldn't find one that said 'To Buy List'.

  8. Being retired, I make a "to-do" list every morning. If I don't, I find myself puttering around, getting lost on the internet, etc. It helps me to stay focused. One of the things I love about being retired is that the time I have is my time!

  9. My list is similar, but it is hard to find time in my not so busy retired life. Days always fill.

  10. Coming across the pond? When will you be in Nova Scotia? It is on our to see list.

  11. My grandfather kept his lists and notes on index cards that he tucked away into the pocket of his shirt along with his pencil. And then he kept the cards for posterity. I'm pretty sure that in his case, posterity did not last much longer than a few months after he died.

  12. Oh, I thought you were extremely productive but you weren't.

  13. My "To do" lists tend to be reminders on scraps of paper - I gave up writing a "proper" list when it became depressingly long. Then I realised that I really didn't need to do even a fractin of the things on it. Why make work when retirement is there to be enjoyed!

  14. I've always been a to-do list maker and I alway write them out. Making a list on my phone just doesn't work for me. The to-do list is a gentle reminder to get stuff done and it keeps me focused on the task at hand.

  15. For a few years I had a throat punch list, but that has gone by the wayside. I always have a to do list and a grocery list on the go, otherwise not much gets done:)

  17. Did you really do all that? Make a "Welcome to Yorkshire" sign for Ringinglow Road, for example? You probably wrote about it and I probably commented but I have forgotten. I do seem to remember you pledging to read "Middlemarch."

  18. I've just has a look at the Hyundai Bayon. It doesn't seem to be sold here, which is just as well as the steering wheel is on the wrong side of car. For that reason, I suggest you give it a miss.
