Deer Big Bloggy Peeple,
Hell-Oh! It's me, Phoebe! Grandpa asked if I wood like to right a guessed post hear on his bog and I said yes.
I am seven weeks old today and my life has started good. I have put on five pounds since I was born - just guzzling mummy milk. It is deliccs nice but sumtimes i have to scream to get it. Mummy can be sooooo sloooow.
I am learning a lot as the days pass by. I grew in Mummy's tummy and when I came out I didn't know much. Every day there is something new. I am trying to make sense of it all - all the shapes and sounds and things like that. I did not know that there wood be colours out here. I like colours (American: colors). And I herd a siren near the suprememarket. It made me jump. Mummy said it woz an amlulance. I don't know what that is.
I have got a big giraffe, a sloth, a hedgehog and a teddy beat called Brian. I have filled lots and lots of nappies. Mummy does not like them going to Landfill but I don't know where Landfill is. Is it over the rainbow?
Daddy is vewy nice. Mummy is vewy nice. Grandma is vewy nice. Brian is vewy nice. But the nicest of all is Grandpa. He sings to me whenever I see him.
I am feeling sleepy again now. Got to go boggy peeple. Have a nice day.
Love,
Phoebe x
She is very advanced for her age isn't she? I expect Grandpa will help her with her spelling too.
ReplyDeleteI had to rap her knuckles when I saw some of the errors in this letter.
DeleteCute blog post from Phoebe. You have a beautiful grandaughter. You musn't spoil her, though. I bet you do. Whenever I see a child in a hand knitted garment, I know that child is loved.
ReplyDeleteYes. My wife knitted that cardigan. Thanks Elaine.
DeleteSweet Phoebe. I do hope I may be blessed with a grandchild one day.
ReplyDeleteYou will have to improve your knitting skills first Sue.
DeleteOut of the mouth or pen of babes. You're very clever Phoebe.
ReplyDeletePHOEBE SAYS: Grandpa says oo live in Higherland. Herro!
DeleteSo beautiful, I think she actually looks a bit like you. I would love my Tom (Grandson) to be back at the beginning again, he was a lovely child. I can't believe he is 31 years old this year, so enjoy every single moment of your lovely Phoebe.

Already she is not the same as the helpless newborn she was seven weeks ago.
DeleteWhat a sweet baby you are, Phoebe, and so bright for your age! Your grandpa will be your willing servant all your life so take full advantage of it, okay? Grandpas and grandmas are a lot more fun than mummies and daddies!
ReplyDeletePHOEBE SAYS: I like your parrot! Fank oo for dem nice books!
DeleteAh, I see the literary trend continues across the YP generations. Miss Phoebe is dazzling.
ReplyDeletePHOEBE SAYS: Grandpa like to sing "Mary Mary Quite Contrary".
DeleteThank you. I was going to ask for a Phoebe update but don't like being a nag. Look at those darling baby lips! She is a lovely baby, filling out nicely.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to believe her rapid weight increase - just on mother's milk.
DeleteSee's so beautiful and so advanced for her age. To be able to write so young, you must all be so proud. A prodigy obviously.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she's seven weeks old already. Time flies.
Apparently I can't spell. She's so beautiful!
DeletePHOEBE SAYS: Fank oo nice lady. I lucked in a mwwow - I yam bootiful!
DeleteSweet Phoebe is a very beautiful child yet somehow still reminds me of her grandfather. How such things can be I know not. We have six grandchildren and the youngest one just turned 20, so I echo ccc, enjoy every single moment.
ReplyDeleteMy grandfathering skills already owe much to your fine example.
DeleteI'm glad that Phoebe was nice enough to translate the completely incomprehensible word "colours" for we poor English-deprived Americans.
ReplyDeleteI know that most American commenters in this blog are intelligent and literate Steve but please remember that many of your countrymen and women voted for Trump and still refuse to wear masks. They need such assistance.
DeleteWell, that's true. Can't argue with you on that one!
DeleteShe must be the youngest guest post writer ever at seven weeks old! I am truly impressed, especially how she seems to have already adopted your habit of offering your readers from the US the spelling of certain terms in their language.
ReplyDeletePHOEBE SAYS: Fank oo nice lady. Sowwy I carnt translate into German two! R their lots of germs in German-knee?
DeleteSo Gramps is the nicest of all, is he?
ReplyDeleteGramps is not just a rambler and wildlife photographer.
Gramps is a grammarian: Eric Patridge meets JB Priestley.
As for Gramp's Yorkshire puddings, fowk rave about them far as Bradford, Bingley and Bridlington. Happen Queen Mother enjoyed them wi her roast and gravy, on last royal visit.
Roll on day they give Gramps Order o' British Empire !
Haggerty
PHOEBE SAYS: Grandpa is sooooooo lovverly. Are oo lovverly two Miser Haggerty? Fank oo for yawn comment.

DeleteWhat a delightful guest blogger Phoebe is YP. She already has the same love of language and description that you have, and it's a pleasure to read her musings. I look forward to many more blogs from this enchanting little girl.
ReplyDeleteHow long before she starts walking with you and taking her own photos? I do hope that once she accompanies you on your rambles, Clint will behave himself and not be as uppity as he can sometimes be.
PHOEBE SAYS: Fank oo Cuppa Girl.
DeleteCLINT SAYS: **** off!
Phoebe, what a treat to hear from you! You wrote a lovely post and I can tell you have a head start on your literary life. You are a beautiful girl and very fortunate to have such a loving family. Be sure to ask your Grandpa to read you many books and sing you lots of songs! I think he is already singing you songs and one day you will be singing along with him and giggling at the funny things all Grandpas do!
ReplyDeletePHOEBE SAYS : Fank oo Bunny!
DeletePrecious Phoebe how quickly she has grown. Such beautiful eyes pondering this world she has entered. Great name for a teddy bear. I have a Brian too, he's soon to be Grandpa Brian. Compliments to Shirley on her knitting. Much love, Adele
ReplyDeleteYou mean you married a big teddy bear? Does he have glass eyes?
DeleteHow cute is that! I'm sure it won't be long till Phoebe's spelling is as good as Grandpa's. Hope you are enjoying life Phoebe and look forward to hearing more from you soon. Love from Fife xx
ReplyDeletePHOEBE SAYS : Goo-goo gaga Jo.
