Here's a picture to lift your heart on a COVID Friday in the middle of March:-
Little Phoebe had to be bathed in a yellow storage box because her proper baby bath is back home. She and her mama have been staying with us but now their new boiler is fixed and they can return to their own residence. However, today is the day she will receive her first baby vaccinations and she is certain to cry for England when the needles go in. Poor girl! Maybe they will decide to stay with us for one extra night.
Young babies are so beautiful.

DeleteAaw! Aren't those baby bath times so much fun for all involved! There are baby photos of my sister and myself where our laughing and smiling faces say it all - utter delight!
ReplyDeleteVaccines... not so much, but thankfully, the pain is quickly forgotten. At least that is how I remember it (obviously not from my own baby days but later on in my childhood).
Phoebe has had her jabs and now she is chortling in her crib - as happy as a sand boy.

DeleteReminds me of my oldest granddaughter as a baby (she turned 20 on St Patty's Day-yowza). Her dad used to call her Wrinkle-Chubs or Puddin-Pie back then. While he doesn't use the former name (she's slim, anywany), he does still call her the latter. Much to her chagrin.

I think you are right though each evening meal has had to be a "special" from the head chef (i.e. Me!) Nine special meals in a row.

Grandma has given hundreds of jabs to babies but balked at the idea of injecting her own grandbabe.

DeleteThat's one for the photo album for sure - certainly different from a regular baby bath. Good thinking! We have one from our cottage days of our baby in a yellow dishpan, which, by the way, was not the same dishpan our dishes were done in :)

DeleteShe's a real doll. Such beautiful unblemished skin. I have to confess to having had a baby bath and bassinette stored away for a few years in hopes of just this need. Glad to hear the first jabs are over with for Phoebe. It will be very quiet now at your house..only 4 weeks to go here.
