With a heavy heart, I think about what is happening in Ukraine almost all the time. It's as much as I can do to force myself not to blog about it daily. For this blopost, I am taking a leaf out of Bob's book. Bob is the keeper of "I Should Be Laughing" out of Camden, South Carolina. Every week he posts an assemblage of recent political cartoons so I am just following suit tonight as Putin continues with his campaign of wickedness, butchery and deceit. He is surely the antithesis of Mr Pastry:-

Peter Brookes from The Times is consistently excellent. Over time his depiction of Trump got better and better, the red tie lengthening to ludicrous proportions and his hands shrinking ever smaller.
ReplyDeleteIt is fascinating to witness how caricatures evolve over time.
DeleteA shame the people of Russia will not likely see any of these.
ReplyDeleteDecent, clear-sighted Russians must be appalled to see what that nasty little twerp is doing in their name.
DeleteWe still have to laugh. I have a very dark sense of humor, probably because I'm a nurse:) Thank you for making me smile today.
ReplyDeleteThe art of the political cartoon is to rise a smile went pointing out what are often painful truths.
DeleteOhm these are so good. Love them all.
ReplyDeletePS Thanks for the shout out!
Please forward the fee as agreed.
DeleteOh, I think the US GOP and its Fox arm of disinformation could give Putin a run for his money. :(
ReplyDeleteStrange how many of those advocates of "freedom" have applauded Putin.
DeleteHe is evil personified.
ReplyDeleteMost observant Catalyst.
DeleteFunny in a gruesome kind of way. the more I read about Ukraine, the more I wish Putin would have a fatal heart attack.
ReplyDeleteI wish someone would put novichok on his cornflakes.
DeleteThey are all clever cartoons. The ages of humans is my favourite...ah you didn't ask.
ReplyDeleteOkay. I will ask now. What's your favourite one?
DeleteNo, not funny at all. I fail to see any humour in the dire situation. Yes, the cartoons are clever, but they just highlight what a pathetic monster Putin is.
ReplyDeleteIt is a fine balance to strike.
DeleteCartoons can be amazingly effective commentary. I understand your fixation on Ukraine -- it's thrown me into a funk that I am having trouble managing. Putin is a scary character and it's terrifying to think not only of what's going on now, but where it could go next.
ReplyDeleteThat is what is on my mind too. Where is this horror show going and will it get worse?
DeleteSome very clever cartoonists.
ReplyDeleteThe good people of Poland are doing everything they can to provide aid and succour to Ukraine.

Ms Zebrowska does droll videos in which she dresses up in period costumes and interrogates herself wittily from earlier times:
*People in 1920 when the pandemic is over.*
This is her serious side.
She knows of two Ukrainian families living close to her.
