Holiday snaps that star our grandchildren. None of the pictures were taken by me. Instead they were snapped on Ian and Frances's smartphones. As the months and years pass and as we all grow older and the temporal distance widens, these innocent images posted on May 22nd 2024 will remain as reminders of our lovely holiday on the Algarve coast.
The granddaughters
The grandson
Grandpa with smiley Margot
Cousins born nine days apart
Lovely Phoebe in one of her summery dresses
After all, who knows what might lie ahead?
Those are some awfully cute grandchildren you have there!
ReplyDeleteYour eyesight is top notch Jennifer!
DeleteAll joy!
ReplyDeleteAll joy...and innocence too.
DeleteYou are fortunate to have your grandchildren with you . with globalization some families are spread across the globe.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty sad isn't it?
DeleteBeautiful photos and beautiful grandchildren. You are blessed, as are they.
ReplyDeleteEven though I am an atheist, God must like me.
DeleteIndeed, who knows what the future brings? Anyway - you know that, in the present, you have a lovely family with a fantastic trio of grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteIt feels like a form of wealth.
DeleteSweet.
ReplyDeleteThe grandchildren are too!
DeleteDelightful photos - what wonderful memories! Amazing that the beautiful Margot is taller than the very serious Zak, and I love the look on her face in the first photo! Phoebe has become so grown up.
ReplyDeleteMargot smiles so readily and has a peaceful personality. Zach is very active and can already crawl quite successfully.
DeleteLovely photos. The girls have such striking eyes! Who do they inherit those from?
ReplyDeleteBoth Frances and Stew have blue eyes. Margot's eyes are hypnotic.
DeleteI thought of the Up series on television from years ago. Chronicling different stages of the children's development. Lovely photos YP.
ReplyDeleteI loved that series and it sometimes made me cry. Now that the film maker Michael Apted is dead there are no current plans to bring out "70 Up" in 2026.
DeleteGreat photos -- memories well-preserved.
ReplyDeleteBlogs can do that as long as Google never shut down "Blogger".
DeleteThose photos are gorgeous enough to make even a Luddite want to get a smart phone. You have beautiful grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteI guess I am a Luddite in some ways Mary.
DeleteGosh, they're so cute, Neil. Their sweet personalities shine through these photos! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteWe are blessed as you are too Ellen.
DeleteSmiles all around.
ReplyDeleteNever such innocence again.
DeleteThe babies at least will need photos to remember :) (I'm thankful to have photos of my own early childhood preserved in albums my mum put together.)
ReplyDeleteI love that you show them on line , joyously
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about what's to come. Just enjoy the here and now. I know it's a cliche but it's true. Your grandchildren are absolutely beautiful. You are indeed a rich man. X
ReplyDeleteOne of the pair born nine days apart looks so much bigger and older than the other.
ReplyDeleteI'm so grateful for my grandchildren too. And, I wonder about the future too, so I make the absolute most of my time with them every time we are together.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so beautiful. You might want to get these printed for an album in case Blooger goes belly-up in the future.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed reading all your posts this week. Phoebe looks so grown up in that last photo. It's probably just the contrast with the babies, but still... it seems like overnight they go from being babies, to toddlers, to little kids.
