Poem

Long Tailed Tit

I'm looking in your window
Tapping at your door
There are things inside your house
That I've never seen before.

Up and down the glass
You watch me as I fly
On wings that lift me upwards
To the blueness of the sky.

I live in the moment
But you are bound by time
Struggling to find a word
To end this little rhyme.

  1. Such a cute picture and words to describe the moment. A redbird used to wake my teenage son early every morning. He was seeing his reflection and fighting it. My son was not amused.

    1. Perhaps a thimble of tea Jennifer. I don't think he would manage a full cup.

  3. Good poem YP. I think he'd prefer a saucer of tea. Can't believe how tame he is - almost one of the family !

    1. I wonder if he'll sit on my shoulder like a parrot. Hope he doesn't **** on me.

    2. My parrot Marco almost never ***** on me even though he sits on my shoulder every day. He's got good manners!

    3. Does Marco wear boxer shorts?

    1. I might write a poem about a guy called Red but what rhymes with that name? Mmmm... I can't say right now.

  5. And we think the wild life outside our doors must be envious of us. We are warmed and have ready food and lots of us have family and friends around to make us joyful. But no. Not at all. For, my darling humans, you are not free to howl at the moon (although some do), climb the nearest tree using your limbs and a prehensile tail for a good look at the forest floor or fly with affixed wings toward the moon.

    Lovely poem, Mr. Pudding. Lovely.

    1. It is gratifying that my little poem sparked those extended thoughts in your mind - gratifying because that is exactly the way I was pointing.

  8. What a sweet little bird...
    He's quite the inquisitive fellow.
Your poem describes him to a "t".

  10. Tis mating season I am sure
So that may be why I'm at your door.
The glass reflects me like a looking glass
I'm so very handsome...a great piece of ....bird!

    1. Excuse me for suggesting this Jan but I do believe that the word "ass" would finish your verse more successfully than "bird"!

    2. Haha! How can I send a photo of the heron painting, I'm finished!
