Today

Well there they are - The Bosh! Boys. They were on a segment of  the legendary Today Show called "Make-Ahead Monday".  The woman in the red dress is Megyn Kelly, very famous in America but pretty much unknown on this side of the Atlantic Ocean. When presenting for Fox News her final year's salary was a reported $15 million.

Ian and Henry had flown over to New York City on Sunday morning. Their Today Show slot was only four minutes long but they managed to pack a lot in and seemed cool and competent in the glare of the studio lights.

Publication of the "Bosh!" cookbook was deliberately delayed in America so it will be interesting to see how sales go following their TV appearance. You might say it was a four minute advertisement for their book. In many American communities there is much interest in vegan and vegetarian cookery and the fact that "Bosh!" has been created by two British hipsters may give sales an extra boost. We will see.

Thanks to Vivian Swift on Long Island for keeping me right up-to-date with the show and thanks too for the screenshots she sent me as soon as Ian and Henry's slot was done. The journey continues.

    1. Maybe they'll come to Australia before the year is out - reclaiming it from the koalas.

  2. Great opportunity to promote their book.

    1. As I say - it was like a four minute nationwide commercial.

  3. They were great and demonstrated some delicious dishes! Do you know if they have any other appearances while in the U.S.? I ordered my book a few weeks ago and look forward to getting it tomorrow. My 22 year old vegan granddaughter, Annika, has been told all about them and is helping to spread the word about their book among all her friends and associates! Word of mouth can't hurt!

    1. They are flying home later today but I understand they will soon be returning - this time to a small Californian village called Los Angeles.

Wonderful exposure for the two young men. That four minutes will extend a million times over bringing them recognition and further, future successes. :)

    2. Further future successes? Well of course I hope you are right Lee and that this moment is not just the pinnacle of their career as leading vegan advocates and cooks.

    3. Have no doubts, Yorkie. Lots of good things lay in store for these two. They have belief in what they do - their hearts are in what they do...

"Per aspera ad astra"....already they are many rungs up the ladder. :)

    4. When they are higher up the ladder I hope they toss some gold coins down to the parents.

    1. They never preach about veganism - restricting themselves to sharing tasty vegan dishes.

    2. Crusade by example: the best form of preaching that there is.

  8. I'll have to see if I can find this segment on YouTube. I've been meaning to check and see if some of their appearances are on there. It also just occurred to me that I should order a copy of Bosh! for our niece, Melissa--she is a vegetarian (mostly vegan) college senior.

  10. So glad I decided to wander over here from Going Gently! I don’t watch the morning news shows so I missed this. We’ve been vegetarian/vegan 36 years and always looking for new recipes. I’ll be sure to tell my personal trainer. He’s a nationally known USA vegan body builder with a large social media following. I‘m ordering my copy today!

    1. It is the number one bestselling vegan cookbook of all time in Britain and currently number two in the Amazon bestsellers list for ALL books. If it takes off in America... Wow!

  12. They did wonderfully! How hard is it for you to watch them, YP? I would be a nervous wreck. On the other hand, maybe you are used to it by now. And they certainly give no reason to make one nervous on their behalf. Calm, cool, collected, at ease - and they are such excellent advocates for vegan eating.

  14. I’m very impressed with the boys from BOSH. I remember reading about their vegan chilli concarne and thinking how great it was. Definitely a winner. I think everything about them is cool. I get emailed by them every Friday and wish them all the best 👍
