Loveliness

Such loveliness. Such innocence. Margot Thea Pudding was two months old yesterday.  What an "easy", contented and delightful baby she has been thus far. Her keenest interests are feeding and sleeping. When awake, she gazes around and chortles. However, there is no doubt she has learnt a great deal since she squeezed into the world on November 2nd.

Looking closely at the card, it seems like her mama forgot that we are now in a different year. It is a mistake that I remember making many times when I returned to classroom teaching each January. It took a while for the number of the new year to fix itself.

Twice now when I have sung my "Song for Margot", Little Phoebe has burst into tears - once asking her mother, "What's Grandpa doing?" If the truth be known, most of the time seventy year old Grandpa doesn't know what the hell he is doing but I hope you like the pictures of darling Margot.

  1. Oh, what an adorable, happy, pudgy baby! Such sweetness! It's hard to believe she's two months old already.

Is Phoebe jealous of the Margot song? Is that why she cries? You'd better compose "Song for Phoebe" right away!

    1. You got it Jennifer. Previously the love and singing I supplied was all for Phoebe. It's hard to understand such things when you are not quite three. By the way, I am sorry that my Christmas card did not reach you in time. I posted it perhaps twelve days before Christmas. Better late than never I guess.

  2. Oh my god! Look at that gorgeous child! She is indeed a happy soul. Babies that smile and laugh like that at two months old are blessed and of course, brilliant. But yes, I agree with Jennifer- you need to make a Phoebe song. I think that sometimes seeing a grandparent pay attention to a new sibling is harder than seeing a parent do it. They thing of us as theirs in all ways. Because of course we are. And yet- we want so desperately to let all of our grandbabies know how much we cherish them.

  7. I think she looks strikingly like her mum?
I think Phoebe is feeling the pain of not being an "only" any more.
As the first grandchild she will one day be the matriarch and it will come sooner than she knows

  8. Margot is a picture of health and happiness - a perfect baby, any parents' (and grandparents') dream!
And Phoebe is a lovely little girl now, who will in time adjust properly to her role as big sister. (O.K. and I each have a big sister and know what it means!)

    1. She has already got one. Her middle name Harriet is quite good for rhyming.

  10. Oooh! The cuteness has bowled me over! I do love tiny babies. and still love them as they grow of course. Perhaps you could explain to Phoebe that you are going to sing to Margot and would she like you to sing to her also?

  11. Thanks for dropping by - I hope you enjoyed the posts about Berlin and Hamburg, only I know you like to travel often within the confines of the internet. Margot looks a happy soul. It's amazing just how quickly they grow and become aware of their surroundings.
