Baby it's cold outside! Fresh snow on wintry Sheffield as Comrade Putin sends yet more cold wind from his Urals. Above - Shirley snapped that picture of Princess Phoebe and her doting grandpa on Sunday afternoon. She used her new-fangled smartphone - Shirley I mean - not Phoebe. She hasn't got a phone yet but she has got a rattle and a cuddly bunny rabbit. Below there's another picture of the old man and his grand-daughter. Three weeks old now. "Lavender's blue dilly dilly..."

Chavs being chavvish. Just the other day, I spotted a male "chav" down by the local Methodist church. He was wearing a Burberrry ...

So there I was standing in the kitchen of our son's terraced house. Something caught my eye outside in his little urban garden. It was a...
Oh, just look at those wide eyes! She really is beautiful. Do not ever play poker, YP. Your face shows exactly what you feel: pure delight and joy. I am happy for all of you.
ReplyDeleteGlad to say that I have never played poker and have no intention of ever doing so.
DeleteAh, Phoebe's a beauty and very aware of her surroundings. Grandpa is clearly over the moon in love. As he should be. :)
ReplyDelete"Falling in love again, what am I to do?..."
DeleteAwwww indeed. She's really coming on. Nice to see grandpa too. X
ReplyDeleteHow did the song go Christina? "There's no one quite like Grandpa...!"
DeleteShe's so beautiful and wide awake, taking it all in. Her grandpa looks like he is over the moon.
ReplyDeleteHer grandpa is not over the moon, he is round the bend. Thanks Lily.
DeleteLook at that sweet little face! And her happy grandpa, too. What a nice photo. I love Phoebe's yellow sweater. The detail on the sleeves is pretty.
ReplyDeleteI knitted that sweater myself. Took me ages.
DeleteP.S. I am lying. They bought it at a nearby supermarket called Morrisons.
Aaaaw indeed!
ReplyDeleteNot just Aaaaw but Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!
DeleteOh, but she's gorgeous! And I think that you are totally head-over-heels in love and that is exactly as it should be!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your joy.
Thank you for adding to it with your comment.
DeleteYou should be able to fit her in your rucksack when you go hiking again.
ReplyDeleteHer dad is looking forward to doing that. I wouldn't want to butt in.
DeleteAwww! indeed... So far she probably doesn't even have to use her rattle to get everyone's attention! :)
ReplyDeleteShe has two slaves though one of them goes to work from Monday to Friday.
DeleteAwww indeed. She is very beautiful YP.
ReplyDeleteWe think so. You should see her with her kit off! Gorgeous.
DeleteSo cute. And Phoebe is too. Haha.
ReplyDeleteIndeed - Haha! I guess that Kay will give you a grandbaby - one day. I hope so.
DeleteEnjoy every moment, they grow up too quickly. I would give anything to have our Tom back as a little boy, he was so lovely.
ReplyDeleteBriony
x
It is hard to hang onto memories isn't it Briony? They disappear like melting snow.
DeleteBeautiful picture and so is the cardigan.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that the knitting was up to your high standard Dave!
DeleteShe looks one contented little Miss with Grandpa under her thumb already!
ReplyDeleteBut thank heavens that disposable nappies are so inexpensive! Today she soiled four in three minutes as she was being changed. Take that mama!
DeleteJust beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGlad you think so too Kat!
DeleteI am not sure how quickly parents perceive their children grow, but when they are not your own, my do they grow quickly and at some point, perhaps as they reach teenage years, you ask yourself where did that time go?
ReplyDeleteSeeing Phoebe reminds me of early days with my own children but I have forgotten so much.
DeleteOh she's lovely. It's startling how quickly those 3 weeks have passed by and how alert she is now. The baby part of childhood seems all too short unless of course you're the main nappy changer! I'm going to upgrade my 2015 phone for a newer model for the better camera function in anticipation of April's special arrival. Happy cuddling, Adele
ReplyDeleteSince birth her eyes have changed so much but of course she has still not made full sense of the world she has found herself in. There is so much to process. Thanks for calling by again Adele.
DeleteWhat a wonderful site, Grandpa and Grandchild! Princess Phoebe is gorgeous and I'm betting she already has you wrapped around her little finger! You have such wonderful days ahead of you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie. Sorry to see Kansas City Chiefs put up such a poor show on Sunday!
DeleteThey change and grow so rapidly at that age. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHer mummy has become a milk machine who only sleeps fitfully now. But this stage will of course pass.
DeleteSweet xx
ReplyDeleteYes.
DeleteHello there, sweet Phoebe! Auntie Donna here! You are looking bright and happy and your granddaddy looks absolutely besotted ... and who can blame him!
ReplyDeleteGoo-goo gaga! WAAAAAAH! WAAAAAH!
DeleteAww so lovely. FYI just because it’s good to get the song right before Phoebe remembers it, it’s Lavenders Blue not Lilacs.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was not a deliberate mistake.
DeleteShe's gorgeous YP, so alert too, and obviously very pleased to cuddle with her Grandpa.
ReplyDeleteNice to see a photo of your good self.
