Apple

Our Lenovo laptop has been playing up, so much so that it appears to have ground to a terminal  halt. Fortunately, our Ian came back to Sheffield this afternoon. I took him out for a curry this evening and he gave me permission to access his Apple laptop when I got home. By the way, he has now gone out with some of his Sheffield chums and Shirley is over in Manchester attending a "hen-do" weekend.

So here I am back at the ranch, tapping away on an Apple laptop for the first time in my life. I could get used to it but things don't work the same way as on a regular Windows-friendly computer.

Anyway, I thought I had better knock out a blogpost just in case you were wondering where I had gone. Perhaps you were thinking that I had travelled down to London to join Extinction Rebellion or maybe you thought I had been rushed to hospital suffering from some undiagnosed ailment.

Sorry to disappoint you. Normal life continues. I am plonked on the sofa with a mug of coffee, ready to watch "Have I Got News For You"...

...That show always gives me a few laughs. There was Trump in 2016 saying "I love Wikileaks"  and there he was again last week saying, "I don't know anything about Wikileaks".  I guess that honesty and consistency are overrated qualities these days. Who wants leaders like that?

  1. I think that Trump is probably hanging by a tiny thread right now when it comes to his state of mind. The Mueller report which he so proudly claimed completely exonerated him absolutely did not and I am sure that at least a few people have pointed that out to him. Of course he's so narcissistic that he probably thinks they're insane. No doubt HE isn't going to read 400 and something pages, redacted or not.
Anyway, sorry. That was just a tangent which your words triggered.
I've been using Macs since the first day I bought a computer. They are pretty darn wonderful.
Glad you're not in hospital, Mr. P.

    1. May we deduce that you are not one of Mr Trump's most loyal fans?

  2. You post so regularly that, yes, some of us DO wonder if you're okay when you don't. Thanks for checking in :)

  3. I find apple stuff very challenging. I have an ipad and unless I use it all the time things change and then I don't know what to do again.

    1. It's as if the western world is divided into two tribes - The Apples and the Microsofts. We should have a big fight.

  4. And you do have news for us...you are fit and well...not hitting the highlights of London Town.

Enjoy your Easter weekend, Yorkie, doing whatever you enjoy doing...even while munching on an apple!

    1. I know that this Easter you will be praying to The Lord and thanking him for Christ's resurrection as you munch on your chocolate Easter bunny.

  5. I've never used Apple products. Which reminds me: I bought a new computer the other day, finally hooked it up, and discovered that our (very old) monitor has kicked the bucket, too. What a pain!!

My favorite part of the whole Mueller report so far was when Trump reportedly said "This is the end of my presidency. I'm so f*cked." That made my day.

    1. Is that what is known as presidential language?

  6. Well I'm certainly glad you are not in the hospital! Enjoy your time on the Apple. It seems like most people are either/or when it comes to computers and Apple or Windows. I'm a Windows person because to me it seems like Apple is always out to get the most money from you for every little thing and my budget is too tight for that! But I do know there are pros and cons to both. So do you have a computer shopping trip in your near future? That might be fun as things change so fast these days.

  7. Sounds like you need a new laptop. Mine is extremely slow and temperamental, it suits me well.

    1. Maybe laptops reflect the character of their owners? Ours is just about dead.

  8. I feel quite at home in both worlds, as I had to use Apple computers for work for many years but always had a Windows PC at home. Now, my desktop PC at home is Windows while my phone and pad are Apple (both courtesy of O.K. who handed his "old" ones down to me when he bought newer models). Apple are overpriced, that's for sure, but yes, there are pros and cons for both sides.
Good to know you are neither in hospital nor have you joined any rebellious activities who could endanger our blog-reading pleasure!

Your green background fits the whole apple idea

  10. No, I was not wondering where you had gone. That's ridiculous. You put up a post every single day. They appear much too frequently for us to wonder where you have gone. You haven't gone. You're here. All the time.

  11. I DID wonder where you'd gone. I'm glad to hear it's just the computer that's malfunctioning and not you! I've had Apples for the last almost 15 years and I love them, I must say.

  13. Check it out. Yorkie posted 18 times in the first 19 days in April. He published 28 posts in the 31 days f March, 23 posts in the 28 days of February, and 29 posts in the 31 days of January. HE HASN'T GONE ANYWHERE. You who have "missed" him seem to be delusional, as is he. It must be due to climate change. Everything else is.

  15. I have been using an Apple iMac for eighteen years before that it was PCs which I had great difficulty with and so I guess it is horses for courses. Similar experiences with a Samsung smart phone gave it to my daughter and bought an iPhone which is wonderful.
My definition for PC is 'pure crap'
