At Rivelin Valley Park this morning...
Swing! Swing! Swing! Swing!
Swing! Swing! Swing! Swing!
Swing! Swing! Swing! Swing!
Swinging in the park till it's dark
Swinging in the park till it's dark
We shall have such a merry lark
Swinging in the park
Swing! Swing! Swing! Swing!
Swing! Swing! Swing! Swing!
Swing! Swing! Swing! Swing!

And here's Phoebe with her mama and papa on Thursday night and the sunflower she has grown from the seedling she brought home from nursery school in June. Not the tallest sunflower but one of the happiest.
Swing! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou're getting in the swing with my ditty Sean.
DeleteShe's a happy little gal, and that sunflower is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSometimes life can look nice and simple.
DeleteHow quickly they learn to pose for the camera nowadays. It's a lovely family photo.
ReplyDeleteKind of you to say so Andrew.
DeleteSuch a wonderful and happy picture with the sunflower!
ReplyDeleteYes. I like it too.
DeleteThis last few months she's changed from a baby to a little girl.
ReplyDeleteI watched an old video of her last night - a happy, giggly baby. Those days have sadly past.
DeleteShe's really grown! What a happy little girl she is.
ReplyDeleteTwenty months now but as lovely as ever.
DeleteGosh, that little girl looks more like Grandpa every day!
ReplyDeleteChrist! She's not that ugly Christina!
DeleteNot the tallest girl, either, but one of the happiest :-)
ReplyDeleteWe think she's pretty tall for a child of twenty months.
DeleteShe really is changing so fast now. Soon enough I'll be seeing the same with the twins. The family photo is frame-worthy. You need to hang that on your wall.
ReplyDeleteWise old women often say, "They don't stay babies for long" and of course they are right.
DeleteA Sunflower and Phoebe is a Ray of sunshine. Super photos.
ReplyDeleteIf only the world didn't have so many worries right now.
DeleteJust about goes to the tune of Green Grow The Rushes O
ReplyDeleteIf you come down to Sheffield I will sing it to you between pints of Tetley's bitter.
DeleteDidn't she do well! The sunflower does look very happy and has obviously received a great deal of love and care.
ReplyDeletePlus water!
DeleteI have written many similar songs about swinging in my life and sung them to many children who wanted pushes to help them fly through the air.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful child with her beautiful parents living her beautiful life.
Swinging has a rhythm that's good for songs.
DeleteSwings are the best! We used to have a beautifully big swing on our front yard ash tree until the ash-borers arrived. The ash tree was replaced by an apple tree and unfortunately will never be strong enough to support a swing. I loved pushing my boys on that swing. (I used it too.)
ReplyDeleteYou must be a low-weight kind of gal Melinda!
DeleteThat song is way too complicated. The metaphors! The wordplay! The deep and textural ironies!
ReplyDeleteI tend to agree. Eat your heart out Ezra Pound!
DeleteEnjoy all of those happy moments because they do grow up so quickly! What a lovely family you have, Neil!
ReplyDeleteSo kind of you to say that Ellen. I won't disagree.
